I was at Hoover Dam before the bridge was built and the water level of Lake Mead was higher. I don't recall seeing as many people at the dam probably because it was on a weekday in October.
5:32 That’s the spillway, not a tunnel. The spillway is an emergency water drainage system that’s fully automatic. When water gets to a certain level, it spills over into the spillway where it goes down a tunnel and out the other side of the dam. The Hoover Dam Spillway was used twice: Once to test it, and another real emergency where water rose to as high as 3 feet from the top of the dam.
I was there 2 years ago.... I was amazed at how low the water level was on the lake side of the dam... we took the tour of the power plant and dam too. it was pretty cool... did you?
Welcome everyone. I am your dam guide, Arnie. Now I'm about to take you through a fully funtional power plant, so please, no one wander off the dam tour and please take all the dam pictures you want. Now are there any dam questions?
If you all are wondering what the giant tunnel is it's a flood way so if water levels get higher then they should the extra eater goes straight out to the river
@Millenniumforce when me and my family went on a tour of the Hoover Dam 3 years ago the water level was so high there was water flowing through that huge tunnel.
Thank’s for the really great video guy’s
Cool video, historically low water levels in Lake Mead
Been there, that bridge is just as impressive as the dam.

I've been there twice. The dam is so big that some of the concrete is still curing almost 80 years after it was built.

Hi,why are those electric pylons leaning over when all others are upright please i live in the uk? love the vlogs keep them coming xx
The towers are tilted so the power lines running from the generators at the base of the dam remain parallel to the side of the rocks.
I live close to the Hoover Dam
I remember when the water was all the way up to the top where the white begins.
