    I relate so much with what you said about being comfortable with being your own teacher. UNISA is honestly a great institution , the admin side of it sucks yes but I think a lot of people struggle because they generally think things get easier because it’s a long distance institution. I’ve noticed most student who struggle here are those who did their undergrad degrees elsewhere 🤞

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is so true!! It’s not easy teaching yourself from scratch, I think people expect the experience to be alot more hands on than it actually is, you literally need to be able to work independently at UNISA and take guidance from the resources available

    Hey. May you please explain the difference between CTA 1 and CTA 2.And is it compulsory for everyone doing CTA at UNISA. I'm a 3rd year CA student in Namibia, if I want to go to UNISA will I have to do a bridging course?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, CTA 1 has been phased out. So anyone who does not meet the requirements of CTA would first do the advanced certificate in Accounting.
      It is possible that you might have to do a bridging course as there is not yet a qualification outside of SA that is accredited (SAICA). However, if you are doing CA(NAM), that could be a different story. Have a chat with the accounting faculty at UNISA, it’s worth exploring all options

  • @sanelemwelase

    Hi Zee, I wanna know, can one transit from SAIPA to SAICA? Second question... Did you start your articles while still doing your CTA or you completed it first?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sanele, only if you have the SAICA Qualifications, Articles and passed both board exams . There’s no conversion unfortunately, you have to do the full thing

    Hey Zee, did you do a diploma or a Bachelor in Varsity, and is Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences, CTA 1 ?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Neo, I did a bachelors. They don’t really offer CTA 1 anymore, the bridging course is not CTA 1

  • @Ms_Kotta
    @Ms_Kotta ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi ZedBee, I hope that you are well. I just wanted to ask where you did your articles ? Also what propelled you to go the unconventional route of doing CTA whilst doing articles? Last question is how long did you do articles since you did CTA while working?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did my articles at AGSA. It’s a long story how I ended up taking the “scenic route”, but what I will say is that indlela yam iye yazi lawula (I’m praying you understand xhosa, I’m not sure how to translate that with the same impact - my journey governed itself). My articles were completed in 3 years like everyone else 😊

    Hi Zintle. I’m currently studying Bachelor of commerce majoring in Financial accounting. In one of your videos you mentioned that if one wishes to pursue charted accountancy, they should start by doing a bridging course (advanced diploma in Acc) then proceed to do the post graduate diploma in applied accounting
    I just wanna know what happens after that? Do you then start with your articles right after completing your post grad? And when do I write my CTA

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Phila, yes if your bachelors is not SAICA Accredited you have to bridge. Postgraduate Diploma and CTA are the same thing. There is just different names to refer to the same thing. After CTA/PGDA it’s ITC (board 1) and articles

    Hi Zinhle, I actually wanted to ask, do you think it'll be possible to be a CA(SA) if I'm studying Bcom in Financial management?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Sipho, yes it’s definitely possible. You just need to do a bridging course into CTA

  • @Mothabi_

    Hey Zee, I just want know if I can do my CTA with other public universities after my bridging course at Unisa

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Mo, yes you are able to but bear in mind that CTA classes have limited numbers and those institutions will probably take from their own 3rd year and bridging students first

    I matriculated two years ago with good marks but I have gone to uni… now is wen I realise I want to study accounting but online(undergraduate)
    So my question is do you recommend UJ for online study or Unisa for online study (undergraduate)?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  ปีที่แล้ว

      So I did my CTA at UNISA and both of my board courses at UJ, it’s not a like to like comparison but I honestly enjoyed UJ more. The programme was organised, there was so much support from the lecturers even though it was distance learning. I’m not sure how it would be in undergrad but the experience I had with them is superb 😊

    Hello, thank you for the video. Did you complete CTA over a year or 2 years(part-time)?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was long ago so there was CTA1 and CTA 2, so I did those and each was a year. But now it’s just CTA 2 available, so it’s only a year

    When you said work, do you mean training for articles or it was a job you decidedto do after your undergrad ?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean articles

  • @kaurie1234

    1.What are some good universities where one can do their CTA on distance in SA?2.Would it be possible to do it on distance with UJ?3. Is there anyone who has ever done their CTA with UJ on distance?

    • @Zintle
      @Zintle  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not only universities offering distance learning, also look at institutions like CA connect who offer it.
      Have a look at the UJ site, they do offer some courses online but the SAICA Stream qualifications are not offered online.

    • @Zintle

      It all depends on you, if you prefer more structure and support then no. If you’re independent, organised, can create your own structure then yes define
