Dave's demonstration that spiders bite humans either out of fear and self preservation or just a feeding response, usually though it's cos we just mess with them, they're a safer bet to be around than a sickening percentage of humans who attack for the love of it... I was terrified of spideys, the Beastie Room and a Croatian dude have helped me see they're not terrifying, highly misunderstood, but not out to get us...!! 😃👍

I often try to watch spider videos to overcome my fear but my anxiety always overwhelmes me. Your calming and very knowledgeable tone goes a long way towards easing that anxiety to the point where I can watch just fine and become a bit more enlightened about my nemesis. Well done my man!

I like the way you use even "failures" to learn more about the spider. Notes about how and where she does her webbing, the construction of the tunnels and adding water to the enclosure maybe weren't part of the original activity's intent but you learned more about this particular spider and added to your knowledge of the species. Time for another go around.

She was able to hide herself so well, I would not have been able to tell that there was such a big spider when there was just the last log in there. Hopefully try 2 will be successful!

I'm so sorry Dave for your disappointment and lovely camera lady. Living on the east coast of Australia I sadly cannot share your enthusiasm. There have been too many fatalities from these highly aggressive and highly venomous arachnids. Did you know they have been found numerous times curled up in the bottom of swimming pools where they have bitten unsuspecting swimmers🤔. Nope they would not survive around me, but I do remember "to be calm, be gentle and love my spiders" well I try but we also have Huntsman bigger than your hands 🕷🕸🕷🕸🇦🇺🇬🇧

Had some wild funnel webs in my house b4 the bed bug bombing it was really bad dropping from my basement ceiling where I sleep an bit my lady kept a few in specimen jars for a while an kept one in a cricket keeper same as a violin recluse it was fun to watch them hunt

Nice little bit of info you might already know, spider web has the same strength as steel of the same thickness. As an engineer I can quite safely say this is one of the materials mankind has tried to harness that can be seen In modern plastics.

I thought at first the female was gone, as in didn’t make it. I was kinda relieved when I saw she was okay, then horrified she ate her egg sack. I am still a recovering arachnophobe and while I find your videos very interesting, I sit as one watching a scary movie. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve jumped watching pairings and such. I try to stay calm, lol, but I’ll have to leave that up to you and camera lady.
