Love the new perspectives of the Delos crew. I also love your skilled story telling style Calico Skies brings, definitely as show I will watch over and over.
While i am a original Delos fan.. I love that they talked about you guys so i knew to check your channel out.. I love seeing the sailing from Grace's eyes or whomever is editing. Its just a totally different spin than how Delos edits. Love it !
I feel allmost at home, so alike certain parts of Sweden it´s spooky! My homewaters is a large lake (About 100km east to west) so no seawater here, but I have sailed in the Baltic sea, and on our westcoast in Öresund and Kattegatt, and been up to Bodø in Norway! So far I have not been disappointed annywhere, lots of differences between all locations, all beautiful in their own right! I love northern sailing in the summertime, light stays till late or even 24/7 if you come north enough at the right time of the summer. I have sailed for 32 years here in scandinavia and think that I could keep on for another 32 without seeing even half of what is worth seeing. I´d love to see and sail the carribean sometime, but only for so long, I love my northerly waters and nature! A big thank you for this episode, it was lovely to watch, brought back memories of trips done, and trips to come!!! Fair winds and following seas!
Awesome! We'd love to check out Sweden one day! We've only heard good things! By time the winter is over we always are done with the Caribbean and want to move north. We are going to try and stay south this year. It is a lot of wear and tear on boat and crew making the long trek north and south each year.
What a wonderful video of Maine! You did a great job of capturing the beauty and allure of Acadia! I love your camera angles and how you chose your shots. That opening drone shot of Roque was a sweet touch. Great job, you keep it fun!
@@CalicoSkiesSailing It is really gratifying when a group of good and open-hearted people coincide in a same space and time (especially in difficult situations that demand mutual help). The good vibes and sincere bonds between them automatically emerge. And that 'tribe' effect lasts over time. 🥰 ... 👋👋
You were here in my "backyard" and I didn't even know it! Too bad you didn't go just a little further and visit the picturesque port of Lubec, Maine, and of course, Eastport. I live along the coast in Milbridge (around 44 degrees 37 minutes north). I put out a short video about Lubec on my second YT channel (Shoestring Shipyard) a couple of months ago. I hope you'll return some day. BTW - our harbor here in Milbridge is presently (mostly) frozen and choked with floe ice, so my choice would be the Caribbean at the moment. 😁
wow! we were so close lol. We wound up staying in Maine until mid October, was a cold trip south 😂, I can only imagine it there at the height of winter ⛷
Acadia Natl Park is a magical place. I was so overwhelmed with the diversity of sights, sounds, and smells on my first visit, that I have now been there six times. Unfortunately, since Covid, the resorts, hotels, and motels have doubled in price. $400 to $500 a night. I understand that hospitality in general took a big hit during the pandemic, but double the cost?
Thank you very much! Crazy that four of six boats from our quarantine crew in the Ragged's made it up to Maine. We are still with Delos in Florida and Ada/Avalon are in St Martin!
Great video, you have done a great job showing some of coast of Maine. Hope you might return in the future, would like to meet and cruise with you. wishI had known that you were sailing with Delos back in Port Clyde. Wife and I sailed into Blubber Island to say hello to Delos and drop off some beer. Would have said hi to you also. SV Shona Rick Fleming
aww too bad! that would have been fun! I think. we are heading south west this year, and hopefully into the Pacific next year 🤓. We've done quite a bit of sailing in the Atlantic, we are looking forward to a new adventure!
It's becoming a ritual to watch you on Sunday morning to start my day. Does Calico Skies have a heating / air conditioning system? Also, did the added weight of the new solar panels have any negative effect on trim / sailing?
Awesome! We have a diesel heater installed. We are thinking about AC for Central America. Kinda a big install but bet we will love to have it. The boat is still sailing well with all that weight. We joke it’s out mizzen mast haha. We are a bit stern heavy when the dink is in Davits but for long passages it lives on the foredeck.
I love how if your sailing people are like we are going on an explore whatever happened to going for a hike or a walk haha not in the sailors log book 🤣
Very fond memories of visiting Acadia as a kid. Making me homesick!
beautiful spot eh?!

Much appreciated! It's funny because we watched Delos before we left to go cruising, who would have thought we'd become good friends with them ?!

Appreciate it!! Yep - Grace does the editing. Funny to see the same destinations but editing through a different eye :)
Excellent video, super shots from the park and also real nice sailing footage.... cheers from Sechelt, BC, Canada
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
How awesome to be able to anchor and explore Acadia for two weeks! Very very envious of you guys.
It was awesome. Dinghy right to the park and go hiking
Looks amazing! Reminds me of so many of the trails close to my home here in coastal British Columbia!
Never been to BC and always wanted to!! Someday :)
Great job filming such beautiful areas !
Thank you very much! This area was easy to film with such beauty !

It's really kewl that you and your friends from the TT Yacht Club are still cruising together.

Noted! 😅Thanks for watching!! We prob won't be able to make more than 4 a month 😂
Seeing your adventures into Canada would have been soooo cool! Maybe one of these days...🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
We SO wanted to make it to Nova Scotia again this year. One of our favorite cruising grounds!

We agree! 😂😉
Great Job nice Video makes me want to go hiking maybe hot springs also.
Thanks! Such a cool spot, very unique to that area of Maine!
Heading for Maine next season from Solomons Md .... found your vids very enjoyable and informative. Thanks
Awesome! We had a ton of fun in Maine. Such a beautiful cruising ground. If Nova Scotia is open that is another awesome place to cruise.
17:28 Grace says The earliest inhabitants of Roque Island... and the video shows a squirrel. Squirrels are inhabitants too! 😁
😂and I bet they were there first!
That was such a beautiful beach. Excellent video and love the way your little group sticks together.

Which way 🏖 or ☃️
My dad was in the Air Force and they gave him a choice; Alaska or Hawai'i... His choice was 🏝
Hope you chose warmth.
😂we are south in the warmth now! :)

@@CalicoSkiesSailing We go down to Costa Rica often. It's an amazing country. Plan for excursions and exploring galore.

LOL like everything is a HIKE but maybe it's really just a walk LOL.
10th comment : awesome video, enjoyed a lot . I missed live chat by tiny miny time slot 😕
Glad you enjoyed it! Next week :) We've been having fun with the premiere's so will do it again next week!
@@CalicoSkiesSailing awesome, 😊
What brand of dinghy is that yellow one?
It is a Whaly, pretty cool because you can't pop it! lol. Imagine dragging an inflatable over the rocks like that
If it was me i would be going to WORMER WATERS!
haha for sure! We stayed a bit too late in the season but made it to warm waters eventually!
Oh my God I hate waiting...lol
