We recently stayed at Haven's Rockley Park in Poole and in this video I give you a tour around the park, showing you the main facilities and what we enjoyed doing while we were there.

Used to go every year as a child. Some of my best memories growing up! I got a wierd feeling of nostalgia watching this video, obviously it has changed a lot. I haven't been for about 14 years.
It's a lovely park isn't it, one of my favourites. It's changed a bit over the years, but we can't wait to go back again. 😊
I used to go as a child all the time too (from 1996 until 2009). Would love to see old pics from the earlier years!

My first time there was over 50 years ago and I loved it. It was privately owned by a Mrs Lloyd. Went back a few times after that. So much has changed since those days.
We first went in the early 00s and then again a few years ago and it had changed a fair bit in the ten years, it must have been very strange for you.
Yes it was called rockley sands I use to go there when I was little hoping to go back again

You're welcome. I'm glad it was nice for you to look back. It hasn't changed much since we began visiting the park around 2010, apart from the nee leisure area.
Would love any pics you have from 2001! My nan owned a van and i practiclly lived there from 1996 til 2009!!

Wow mymum used to work here as I was a little boy in the 80s 90s thanks so much for the video great content.

@@KarionTravelling oh yes it certainly has. I must pay a visit some time. She worked up there kitchen out the caravans and I can remember her saying to me that they had to replace like spoons for 5p each 😂
It's amazing what people take isn't it. I definitely recommend going back, we love it there and would be going again this year if we could squeeze it in.
@@KarionTravelling yes it is boy I could tell you soooo many stories. We had so many cracks up there. They used to have another swimming pool a cross the road which was called tropicana and used used to have diving boards on it are used to go swimming in there every weekend loved it so many Memories
I wonder if that's the owners pool now. They have a special area next to the common with a pool and facilities.

I just went here lol this is to everyone that is going there at this time everything is open but it’s fully booked so like swimming a the clubhouse but you can still go in the sports zone and arcade and then beach is fun but ya just a heads up on if u are going ty but it’s so fun there x
Thank you for letting people know, that's very helpful. I believe you can book some of the facilities a few days before you are due to arrive, but only if you booked your holiday before COVID started and it wasn't booked as a Haven Hideaway. We're going again soon so hopefully I'll be able to find out.
Oh my goodness we go here almost every year but we are going to Weymoth Bay instead this year!! So lovely to see you reviewed this park ❤

Sorry, I don't know. But you could call the park and ask. Haven is usually pretty helpful, just avoid check in/out days 😊
I used to go here when I was little back in the 1970s. I'm sure it was called Rockley Sands back then.
I bet it's changed a lot since then. I think the beach area is still called Rockley Sands so maybe that's where they took the name from. Have you been back since then?

I live in poole but as a stay cation I book here as can enjoy a holiday especially if book a term time and go on the weekend and drive kids to school on the Monday as check out is 10am anyway
We have done the same and booked a couple of breaks close to home. It's nice just being in different surroundings isn't it. 😊

@@pinkshimma I hope everything is open again by then. The entertainment in September was fantastic, and one day we had the pool to ourselves. 🏊♀️
We used to have a mobile home their and we would go at the weekends practicly grew up their miss the place crazy how much its changed

We hadn't been for about 10 years, it felt new but familiar at the same time. It's a great park for families. You should treat yourself and go there for a few days. 🙂
I remember climbing up a helter skelter slide at a play area like this when I was a young girl and falling over the edge. This was long before they had the spongy flooring and I hit dirt and grass; I was lucky to just break my arm. Oh the joys of youth.

Hi can you use the the resort facilities before you check in? I ask because my check in is at 4 but I would like to take the kids to the parks etc and get to the resort earlier in the day is this possible?
Yes, I believe so. We have been using the facilities at all the other parks before check in. If there is security on the door you can tell them you're waiting to check in and you can book swimming on the app (if they are still doing that then) prior to 4pm.
Why James not wearing a Helmet when he doing the Claiming Wall?
I'm assuming it wasn't a requirement because he couldn't do the sky walk due to the weather.

Hi, thank you. Yes they have character meet and greets (photo opportunity) and sometimes they were walking around the park. There's a stage in the live lounge where they perform the main shows. 😃
Hey, great videos. If you were to buy a holiday home, which one would you go for..Dockley or Combe Haven?
Thank you. I think it would have to be Rockley Park as I have so many fond memories of staying there over the years.

As nice as it would be to own, we like visiting different places, and I've heard a lot of horror stories about being an owner, especially last year.
I last went there in 1982. The place is unrecognisable. Is the pedal kart track still there, with the traffic lights and roundabout etc?
I know, it's changed a lot since we first went about 10 years ago. I don't think there is a track still there. Where did it used to be?
@@KarionTravelling Back then It was called Rockley Sands. It was a bit of a relic from the 1960s, like the one in Holiday On The Buses. The kart track was brilliant, it was just past the entertainment building, next to the crazy golf course. It was once featured 'through the windows' on BBCs Play School.
Does the bus to Poole still stop there?
@@cerneuffington2656 I don't believe it's still there. It might be where the sports facilities are now. The bus still stops just inside the park and goes into Poole town centre. Rockley was the first Haven park I remember visiting, we keep going back year after year even though there are so many other good parks. 😊
@@KarionTravelling Rockley was my favourite. I've still got a couple of brochures and a Rockley Penguins Club badge. The club had a stupid theme song: 'We are the Rockley Penguins and this is how we play, we always walk and never run'... So we changed the lyrics: 'We are the Rockley vandals... we always run and never walk'...
The kart track must be long gone. Sadly, all the best, quirky places have gone - Tucktonia model village in Christchurch, the Brading waxworks museum on the IOW, and the Wild Mouse ride at Smarts, Littlehampton ♥
We feel the same about Butlins, I spent a lot of time there as a child and now going back is part 'ah yes I remember that' and part 'oh, where's that gone?'
I was supposed to be going this year but bloody covid stopped us 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣
Oh no, will you be able to rebook? We're hopefully going back later this year but at the moment it's just wait and see and keep fingers tightly crossed.

Why do you always do you go Haven Cooks Chippy the food from Cooks is rubbish
I like to try the food on site so that I can show people what is like. We try and vary it at each park.

Rockley park is now a very dangerous place, thefts from Caravans and vehicles please think before you book.
That's such a shame. I haven't had any problems there, but I've read a few horror stories from other parks.
Great idea. Tip the crabs out so they have to scramble to the water to avoid the seagulls.
They all made it back to the water safe and sound, but I see your point, and next time I'll carefully tip them back into the water away from overhead predators.
