The Diaspora Transition Network is a membership-based network for African Diasporans and returnees of various heritage currently residing in Ghana. This network will be a community for information sharing, skills exchange, cultural awareness, and a space for doing and discussing business. Stephanie Adu is a British-born Ghanaian, and the founder and Chief Executive of the award-winning beauty brand Colorbox Cosmetics Ltd.
Stephanie moved to Ghana in 2014 to establish the affordable luxury brand, which focuses on catering to the beauty needs of modern yet often underserved women of color. Stephanie’s passion and experience within the beauty industry span across 14 years, with vast experiences including numerous client-facing roles, developing efficient operational logistics and head spearing innovative marketing strategies. Adjacent to pursuing her passion, Stephanie gained a degree in Biomedical Science majoring in Pharmacology from King’s College London. Stephanie then went on to pursue a dynamic career in Investment Banking, where she worked as a global equity sales-trader at Morgan Stanley in London. Within this role, Stephanie traded stocks across a variety of sectors including that of established global cosmetics companies. Stephanie’s banking career is largely responsible for fuelling her business acumen, which inspired the leap into the world of entrepreneurship to pursue her passion.
Stephanie has built Colorbox Cosmetics into a major player within the Ghanaian beauty industry, with the brand winning Digital Commerce & Marketing Brand 2020 and Product of the Year in the 2019 Makeup Ghana Awards. Stephanie also won Beauty Entrepreneur of the year 2020.
Colorbox Cosmetics develops and hand selects its own line of products and also distributes to various countries outside of Ghana, such as Nigeria, Kenya and many more.
Aside from her professional commitments, Stephanie is passionate about empowering expatriates to explore entrepreneurship opportunities in Ghana through an initiative called ‘Move 2 Ghana’, and also is a frequent speaker at empowerment and motivational events both on and offline, across Ghana and the U.K. Stephanie’s ambition, vision, and entrepreneurial spirit are the forces driving her commitment to become a prominent African business role model, with a recognizable legacy for upcoming generations.
