Revisited your channel hoping for more Pinback. I mean, I can’t offer you anything other than clicks, but man Pinback has such good bass and you cover these bass lines like a fuckin boss.
Listen to the original and it blends in pretty seamlessly with the percussion. ABSIV is a studio wiz and uses a lot of high end outboard compressors to help tame/blend the transients of his percussive technique. Combined with a lot of skill/practice, it ain't any trouble to mix.

I mute with my left hand (notice that my left hand's index finger is constantly barring across the strings to help mute). The hard part is getting used to releasing the muting where you need to, but you'll get it with practice.
