Another great one ! Always love the sound and smell of steam from the CP Hudson's. A Royal Hudson would have made it even better. I left off the KC being a true Canuck engine as only A.W. would know. Cheers
Thank you, it was a fun trip and I enjoyed putting this video together. It was like reliving it all over again. I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it :-) A.W. did a fantastic job finding interesting photographic locations during this Chase
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the video. It was a whirlwind of 3 days for me experiencing it, and in the hours it took for me to put the video together, I enjoyed reliving the experience!! :)
Back in 2007, I believe, CP 2816 was brought down to the Soo/CP's Bensenville yard near Chicago. As railroad employees of the Soo, we were allowed four free tickets each to ride excursions out of Bensenville along with the general public. I was only able to obtain tickets for the run from Milwaukee's Union Station to Chicago's Union Station. Also, when 2816 had to be "spun" on the turntable at "B-ville," I brought down my 1950 Hudson Pacemaker sedan which I owned at the time (I now have a '53 Hudson Super Wasp). Anyway, I parked my Hudson directly in front of the 1930 Hudson type (4-6-4) 2816 short of the turntable. The railfans there were elated over being able to get rare shots of a "Hudson in front of a Hudson."
@@WAL_DC-6B that is a wonderful recollection and story; thank you for sharing that!! Oh yeah, railfan, car enthusiasts and so many would love your creative idea for the impromptu photo op!! (Hope you were sent a few photos) Thank you for writing, I enjoyed your comment
@@traveling_ladyrailfan Actually, I took my own photos. I certainly understand and appreciate the effort and frustrations you experienced chasing 2816. Those of us who've seriously photographed trains have gone through the same troubles at one time or another. Comes with the territory. Thanks for sharing and "may all your signals be green."
Lol!! Small world! :) that was a good photographic location... I could have done without the cars and trucks going by, but all in all, I was happy with it. I hope that you got some great shots there and if you chased it before or afterwards, too! Thank you very much for watching and thank you for taking the time to comment :)

Great video of a great engine. Are you using a separate camera for stills or are they taken from the video?
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Stills are shot using a separate camera, a Nikon usually but sometimes a smartphone
