Schlieffen with commander Gunther is the most fun competitive ship in the game. Go demolition expert, brisk, vigilance, adrenaline, long range 2nd battery shells, manual 2nd battery aiming, and concealment expert. There is no better feeling than going 37 knots to a point and setting everyone 11.6km near you on fire.
Agreed, its so fun. I went with demo expert, grease the gears, long range 2nd, adrenaline, manual 2nd, and concealment for commander skills. With the added equipment and flags, I get my concealment down to 12.6 km and my secondary range up to 12.5 km. That's just insane
I'd put Schlieffen at S tier. You can argue that other tier 10s are better, but the Schlieffen is wayyy too fun to be grouped with the other ships in its line. Its so derpy, in a good way.
Worst part is that i feel it would be pretty easy to make german BB´s... well not great, but at least consistently enjoyable again. Raise torpedo protection a bit, make the armor bit more dependable (for such huge thickness numbers its icredibly easy to pen german BB´s from pretty much any angle for big damage), improve accuracy and dispersion on main guns (not much, just so it wouldnt feel like gun barrels are made from same material as Floppy Hammer handles) and give them HE saturation to superstructure. Or just fix the goddamn gunnery bugs so you wouldnt get 250+ meter spread on ship 4 kilometer away, considering it even shoots at the postcode you were aiming at. Well at least it would be easy, if it wasn´t Wargaming were talking about... fixing shit is impossible, improving shit is improbable, German BB´s are screwed.
The sad thing is that the German guns already got a accuracy buff.... they use to be worse, the Roma use to be more accurate than the Bismark now its worse with as far as I know nothing to compensate the Roma except a slight buff to her secondaries which are still not good.
Roma, as a traditional Italian BB is just amazing to play for the sake of fun. When it hits, it hits hard, and can reliably tank alot of shots when you know what to do.
Just got the Roma, I've had her for about 3 days, I keep hearing everyone saying her guns are terrible. I've consistently deleted cruisers from existence, and I haven't seen any of the shotgun levels of dispersion I've seen from other people who play her. First Italian ship and probably my last until I save up enough coal for the Napoli
So, I just found out most of these S tier ships are no longer obtainable, which really blows for someone just starting out. In that case, I think I'll waste my time and money on something else rather than being repeatedly outclassed because I was late to the party.
Novorossysk is AMAZING almost S Tier for ranked T6/T7, because its a Supreme Firestarter and being up tiered doesn't matter if you play it as a big cruiser and spam HE, it still vastly outperforms most other t6s

The way you talk about my beloved Viribus Unitis brings me pain. She’s one of my best performers. Her stealth is excellent, better than most tier 5 cruisers. With careful positioning, you can catch a lot of broadsides with your 16 guns.
Had some of my best games in her. Her bow is very tanky too. She takes a bit more skill and care to play, but she has a huge potential in the right hands.
What a great recommendation. I'm having a blast with the T6 Warspite. Puttin' a good hurtin' on T8 big boys (BBs) every game. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Gotta home in on ways to get 'some' cover during 30s reload time. Making short days for cruisers. Fun, fun, fun!

Can't tell you how many kills I lost where I ground down a ship, only to have one of my happened-to-be-in-the-neighborhood teammates fire one stinkin' salvo for the kill while I wait like the Maytag repairman. Have to stay back, away from potential crossfires, too. But yeah, feels like waiting for hybernation season to be over to a) get anywhere and b) get a shot off :)

Great work on this. Goes to show how many flat out bad ships WG stuffs in the Santa crates as the lower tiers are filled with them. Once and while you land something you can roll with, but the majority is all hot garbage ships that didn't get yanked because they were too OP. They simply cleared out the dollar store bottom shelf that nobody would throw money at and stuff them in these crates every year to make you burn through more money chasing a good rare or currently available ship.
Had the Georgia laying around for ages, after getting it for coal. Having a blast with her now. I hate sitting around in this game and this ship allows you to make mistakes, push too hard, show broadside in order to retreat..all the shit you wouldn't survive usually. And after some healing up you can try it all over again. 43+ kts undetected - you can just zip around the map. Love it.
Repulse deserves to be higher. At the very least, I’d put it above October revolution. Handles like a cruiser, with cruiser dispersion and accuracy with battleship caliber and reload. I’d say Repulse is only marginally worse than warspite, but probably more fun to play.
I love the California :( I won it few weeks back in a santa crate ... it's very accurate. Slow, but very accurate. I'm using it to train my USN captains.

My top five: Yamato, Iowa, Bismarck, Montana, and Arizona. I like the South Carolina and Wyoming purely for nostalgic reasons as the first BBS I got in the summer of 2016.

May I make an interjection? I may also be a little biased here as she has been one of my favorite warships since I was a kid, but Hood can do incredible things in the right hands. Her main battery is pretty accurate, she can citadel like crazy, and her DFAA is very impressive. I've shot down nearly 50 planes in a few different battles with her. I feel that she definitely needs some love.
YES! They handle nice tho, i find them agile ships. T7 i liked a lot for some reason i really "felt" it. T8 is meh, because i have Roma and she is just better in every way. T9, T10 are super awesome, i have like 80% winrate on Lepanto, which is crazy high for me, normally i'm around 52%. Also i guess a lot of people use smoke the wrong way, but it can be a gamechanger.

Only the Iowa I would put one tier lower, unfortunately it didn't performed very well to me. Even with the accuracy mod she wasn't consistent damage dealer. This is really a good overview of BBs, you cover a lot of obscure premium BBs that no one ever talks about or does youtube reviews on. And you give very quick spot on description which is complete opposite of your usual reviews where you sometimes never seem to come to a point about whether the ship is good or not. I’ve had the Tirpitz for a while, it’s a great ship. You don’t wanna get in close range of it cuz then you will get torpedoed by like 3 torpedos and a full broadside.

I agree, but KMS Battlecruisers are doing great! I miss that i couldnt get Odin, cause i have had not enough dubloons for last part of ita dockyard :(

It's funny that the Anhalt is so slow because in german anhalten means to stop. So we can be thankful that this ship as even some speed.
Only the Iowa I would put one tier lower, unfortunately it didn't performed very well to me. Even with the accuracy mod she wasn't consistent damage dealer. I had a hard time to grind through with it.
Other than that the list is fairly accurate!

Skill issue
The is the most accurate description of the South Carolina I’ve ever seen.
This is really a good overview of BBs, you cover a lot of obscure premium BBs that no one ever talks about or does youtube reviews on. And you give very quick spot on description which is complete opposite of your usual reviews where you sometimes never seem to come to a point about whether the ship is good or not. So thanks for once.

I’ve had the Tirpitz for a while, it’s a great ship. You don’t wanna get in close range of it cuz then you will get torpedoed by like 3 torpedos and a full broadside.

I just focus on all the UK/Royal Navy ships, kind of disregarded all the other nations. I love battelships since unlocking them after cruisers and destroyers, but I can't wait for aircraft carriers :)

I still rock the Texas, the Torpedo protection is solid and it will eat most things. Even if it isn't the best, the Premium credits make it worth the play
