    Feel free to leave your own suggestions and recommendations for Atom packages in the comments for other people. And please do not think I am saying Atom is the best editor for every person. I shouldn't have to specify this but some people still do not understand how I operate. I would never say one tool is the best for EVERYONE. That is a foolish, ignorant and plain unintelligent statement to make.

    very useful
    - great resources for us
    side note
    - including the date of the tutorial in the vid's title might help with viewership/subscriptions
    ex) 10 Essential Atom Editor Packages & Setup (2018)
    - which can be very different from a (June 2017) tutorial ... this could give you a marketing edge
    - I'd def click on "2017" or "2018" before a title without a date
    - there are some Web Dev vids from 2011-2015 with high viewership... but, they don't work with older HTML5, CSS-3, and JS ... very, very frustrating
    ** I've actually wasted days, and hours with outdated videos (spec. the linux, VM, and Windows installs)
    - if you specify Windows 10 (2017,2018) you might get a noticeable bump in subscriptions and viewership
    ** there's a lot of outdated material out there which is actually DANGEROUS to watch
    ** especially installs/intros for XAMP, phpmyadmin, Mysqli ... whether VM for linux (Ruby) is necessary since Ubuntu is on Windows 10 (after 2017 updates)
    Thanks again Brad - you're really doing a stellar job,
    cheers

    y problem is pretty annoying and I cannot figure it out how to fix it. Let's say I already have a text like this: blablabla And i want to add some more like "strong". So whenever I write before my text atom creating double and and everytime I have to delete one, and the same when I wanna add at the end of my text it create double strong as well. Can someone tell me how to fix it?

    If you have issues with color dots after line 48 this is the workaround in atom style sheets:
    .pigments-gutter-marker span, .pigments-gutter-marker-in-selection span {
    background-attachment: scroll !important;
    }

    Hey good vid, been following your channel for sometime now and I must say this is how I learn a new programming language. I have atom as a text editor and these packages sure he[p out when doing development, I know you cant fit a lot of package in you video but there is one package that can come in handy and thats they Minimap, helps me get to certain parts of my code that I need to get to quickly.
    Can I also make a request for you to do a Laravel beyond the basics course because I leaned the beginners course and I found it very useful however after this you kind of get stuck when you get to polices and gates etc, thanks in advance dude, keep up the good work

    Great choices. I use most of them.
    For web dev, you would usually use express+notify or webpack. Or some sort of package that would do live server. Why would i want that plugin when i have that kind of setup. Thoughts?

    Hi Brad, have you come across a good package for prompting relative path locations in Atom? Like when typing srcs or hrefs? I use webstorm for this but really like Atom as it's much lighter and find it's more configurable in terms of using only what I need at a given time.

    Amazing video as always! Thank you so much for this video, I want to ask you I have seen a lot of your tutorial series, you have used windows system for development, any particular reason for using windows as a development platform? just curious.. Thanks once again.

    • @TraversyMedia
      @TraversyMedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have always been a Windows guy even before I started programming because I was into gaming PCs and I did computer repair. I also have hardware and other software that needs windows to run. I also use it because I create videos and I know many new guys have windows. I want everything to be easy to follow. Chances are a linux or mac user fully understand windows but not the other way around. But if you are asking if I have a specific reason for development, no. I actually really like developing on Linux.
