Customer came to me with a shorted out cord, talked to Dyson about getting it replaced, was shocked to learn this was fake. The attention to detail is impressive.

I just want to say thank you for this. Today, i was supposed to get a used dyson air wrap when i saw your video so i asked the seller if he can sign a document and note down that he received the item from me. I told him, i will go to dyson to authenticate the item and in case its not real, ill return it back to him. The seller said he don't want to go through the table so i got scared and eventually he cancelled it. Thanks for the warning.

Me too :) E-bay. It's a pretty good counterfeit too but for sure, 100% counterfeit. Didn't watch the whole video. Obvious signs on ours, arrows had more lines than the actual one. Like yours, colors varied from attachments. Case was glued horribly. A few other signs.

R A Yo just for information serial number itself cannot prove authenticity, Dyson themselves said it, and mentioned that without actually handling it and checking in person it’s impossible to confirm authenticity.
Legendary Wizard I’ve actually opted to not buy it anymore. It’s expensive and don’t want to take the chance.
My mom bought a fake one and dyson confirmed the serial number 🤦♀️ she doesn’t believe it’s fake. But she bought it from a sketchy chine site for $250 ad looks exactly like this. I’m like look the purple is plastic and not chrome on the bottom. She said dyson will give her warranty

This could easily fool someone who has never owned or know anyone who ownes a Dyson airwrap.
They sell a lot of cheap ones on Vinted as well with warranty and receipts, claiming they just don't like it or use it. They look very convincing and i almost bought one until i saw videos like this showing how real the fake ones can look.

I got this exact same one - SAME SERIAL NUMBER EVEN!! What made me suspect it's fake was all the Chinese + other Asian languages all over the pamphlet, when I'd bought it in the EU. The biggest and easiest tell is the filter - the original has a honeycomb pattern, whereas this has simple round holes. The quality of the round brushes is also much much different :(

@@teodoradimova5989 The Filter of the real has round holes. I know if, cause i work for Dyson. There never was a model with honeycomb pattern on the plastic filter shroud.

AirPrd. is selling this as authentic ! It is not! It’s a fake! Do not buy!!!! Also when this is overheating,you have to watch that a fire doesn’t start . Spend the extra bucks on a reputable dealer ,not only for safety reasons, but the quality for the money you spend! Not a cheap purchase to begin with! PS Thanks for this video to show us what this Dyson dupe looks like, cause everybody doesn’t know the specifics of the real one.👍👍👍

I love how convicted everyone is that a few pieces of plastic and some metal in a cheap box would be worth $600 for a name. It should cost $40 but everyone supports the narrative that it's that high quality you're paying for. If the price was reasonable in the first place counterfeits would have no purpose but they made this happen

I literally bought one from Lazada Philippines. I got scammed too :( good thing I was able to return the item within 7 days... just waiting for the item to reach the seller to get my refund. The one I got literally has the same serial number as yours.

Hi... I just got the Dyson Airwrap from Ebay and it appears to be counterfeit as well. Came from China. Originally was suppose to be a gift. I definitely want to return this item even though the seller says they don't accept returns. What steps should I do to insure that I will get my money back?
If you bought it on eBay, you can make a case to eBay and they should sort it out as one of their rules is no counterfeit products.

I recently did the same thing, I didn't want to spend so much so I bought a fake Air Wrap on ebay, and honestly, I cannot tell the difference between it and my mom's real one. I dont use it all the time so for the savings it was worth it to me

The difference is not in look, but Coanda effect. Fake one is just just look similar without Conrad’s effect. Fake=normal hair styler with dyson look
I bought one on eBay and when I could not register the serial number for guarantee for 2 years I knew it was counterfeit. The serial number was similar to the one in the video. Seller he had already registered it. He hadn't. Contacted Dyson they confirmed that it was not their serial number. My money is being refunded through eBay guarantee. I have not purchased one from Dyson shop. It has only cost me £80.00 more than the counterfeit.
Did you have to send back the fake? I think I will have to do that an it's such a hassle. These people that knowingly sell fakes should be in jail.

Julia Moser hello there. It does work as a hair styler but the effects wouldn’t last as long as the original would. It’s also prone to overheating so it has to be turned on and off in between uses

Hey there. The warranty cannot be registered as the serial number is not legit. Dyson Malaysia does not acknowledge the warranty nor will fix it either if it malfunctions as it’s a fake. I don’t have the name of the seller as he opens multiple accounts online. The price is definitely a fake item, so pls don’t buy it!
I am also planning on buying one, which cost RM1,300 to RM1,500 in lazada/shopee. Some seller claims reason is cheap due to its a display unit taken back from shops. And some claims saying stocks is from Singapore or China (thought Singapore equipment is much more expensive). Anyone can advise how to check the original ?
Yes I saw in Lazada too ,claimed it’s original and warranty from Dyson UK. But the reviews as well mentioned they can register the warranty .. I’m confused 🤷🏻♀️
Nazirah Amirnudin Nonono, Dyson officially mentioned successful registration for warranty doesn’t mean it’s authentic. Counterfeit serial numbers are randomized and you might be actually registering a warranty for an unsold / unregistered real Dyson hairdryer. The only way to guarantee original is seeing receipt of purchase from authorized retailers or purchased from Dyson themselves.
Mercari has a bunch of fake ones now can’t trust them anymore either Mercari has gotten bad with these fakes and for 800 bucks
How much does a counterfeit one cost? Cause I want a Dyson one but am not paying anything near the amount they want and if the counterfeits work well and are cheap enough I wouldn’t mind a counterfeit lol
I bought a fake one for less than 300 and am completely happy with it to be honest. I can see how eveyone might be upset they purchased a fake, but if you get it cheap enough I think it is totally worth it, the fake one works just as good as the real in my experience.

The fake ones look different as shown in other videos and you can clearly say it’s fake.. I don’t believe this is fake until you test it and show us. Also, has anyone seen a fake one just like this??
