You can also mask out the character, tint the background like cyan colour, amd animate the character to little left and the background to right. It'll look amazing

Quick tip when you are at after effects right click on the text layer > hover courser to create > Then select create mask from texts.... And after effects will automatically create masks for you so you don't have to individually create mask for every word and you can follow rest of the tutiorail... Solid tutorial loved it
