S/he is very young and testing his/her ability to hunt other births. A adult goshawk do not attack in this way. But our chick was brave and defend himself.
Susan, we are quite sure that the other chick, as well as her mother Manta, is already migrating. We visited the island after goshawk´s attack to make it sure. There wasn´t any sign of a carcass.
