I reckon the bass line may have took a little inspiration from the original pokemon red/blue battle music, the basic idea behind the scene in the film was kind of like a pokemon battle seeing as the film did try to play on a lot of gaming clichés

Okay so I did some research and I can't fi d out what the monster pedal from the movie was but I did find a bass pedal called Pork & Pickle that is a Fuzz/Overdrive that might work well.
