So excited I found your channel! It's a great source of inspiration and encouragement to pursue the lifestyle you want. I grew up in a small town in a mountain region but left to live in a big city as soon as I finished school. Originally never planning to go back. At 18 I dreamed of a life like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City. Assuming that it would make me happy but never really questioning if it fit my personality. Now ten years later, I found myself with a city apartment, a traditional career, too much stuff, and absolutely unhappy. I thought at first something was wrong with me. Then I stumbled on a book, that proposed to base our goals not on what things we want but on how we want to feel. That changed everything. I realized that I craved peace, quiet, and a connection to nature. I wanted to look outside of my window and see trees, not buildings and cars. So I made the decision to move back to the countryside in the next two years. I am excited and scared at the same time. Thinking of it as an experiment helps me a lot. Even if it turns out to be not what I wanted after all, hopefully, it will bring me one step closer to the life I do want. Really looking forward to more videos of you and your life in Norway! Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Lola, thank you so much for sharing! I find so many similarities in your story with mine: the Carrie Bradshaw life, finding out every plan we make should be based on how we want to feel. And when thinking about your move back to the countryside I can only say: Yes! Try it out. If it turns out different than what you had expected, no worries. It's about trying out and finding out how it makes you feel! My 80-year old friend shared with me the other day that growing up on the countryside, all of it, is still inside her. She is still that little girl from the country even with layers of art school, a New York City career, & city living all added on top. She said: We are always that's what inside of us how we grew up. I love that and I think this applies to you for sure. All the best with your plans and keep me updated on how it turns out for you! Thank you for your kind words, I'll try to keep sharing more about my life in Norway for sure!
Great that you've found a place where your heart truly belongs, please do document your journey here on TH-cam you might inspire someone to let go too❤️
