- Although Crape Myrtles are difficult to bonsai because they are very apically dominant and have very brittle branches, here I am showing the re-potting of two Crape Myrtle trees which I am trying to bonsai. Sort of experimenting. I will be updating this from time to time and will have shared the experiment with you.
Here is a previous video I made about a "crape myrtle" : • A Day in the Life of B... but that is not the same plant.

Do crepe myrtles drop their leaves in the tropics, or do they keep them year round? I spoke with you earlier this year about your success rate for rooting truncheons. I tried it and was successful. I've let the roots escape the pot, and will be able to chop the trunk next spring. I'll be starting with a three and a half inch trunk, saving me several years of ground growing. Thanks for sharing your know how, and enjoy your videos.
three and a half, that's a nice trunk to start a bonsai. good luck on your bonsai journey, thanks for watching my videos.
