তৃতীয় লিঙ্গের জনগোষ্ঠীর জীবনমান উন্নয়নে কাজ করছে সরকার। শুধু তা-ই নয়, তাদেরকে ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগের সুযোগ দিয়েছে সংবিধান। তারা দেশের নাগরিক। এছাড়া এ জনগোষ্ঠীর জীবনধারার উন্নয়ন, অধিকার নিশ্চিত করাসহ তাদের স্বাবলম্বী করে দায়িত্বশীল নাগরিক হিসেবে গড়ে তোলার জন্য বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করেছে সরকার। এই কর্মসূচির অংশ হিসেবে দেশের ১০টি জেলায় তৃতীয় লিঙ্গ সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য আবাসন স্থাপনের উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে সরকার। সে লক্ষ্যে চলতি অর্থবছরে তাদের জন্য প্রায় সাড়ে ১১ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ রাখা হয়েছে।

Apart from this, the government has taken various programs to improve the lifestyle of these people, ensure their rights and make them self-reliant and responsible citizens. As part of this program, the government has taken the initiative to set up housing for the third gender community in 10 districts of the country. For that purpose, about 11.5 crore rupees have been allocated for them in the current financial year.
