Hello … able to share what kind of improvements the switch made to overall sound quality? More open and cleaner sound? Any change to hf… eg… more detail and extension or more laid back? Any description would help. Thanks 😊
@@andyandy2684I didn’t have a switch between router and server. This reduced noise and I hear darker background which improves soundstage and instrument separation a little. My system is warm, musical and laid back. The SW-6 was a good addition as I try to improve my digital front end.
I use a Huawei 6G router and add a Ifi Lan Silencer n connected to my A6 ME , its def improved the sound. Ofc a Denafrips Pontus 2 with Iris DDC via I2S. Its pretty amazing
Please test before changing, a streamer has a buffer and will play seconds without the cable connected. So when disconnecting the cable one should hear a difference, zero noise…. But you don’t hear it, any idea why?
Glad it piques your interest. Please reach out to my colleague at sales@beatechnik.com. We are happy to help you with any questions you may have. Cheers!
Alvin, wouldn't you connect the fiber optic cable from the Switch to the server ? Seems like going from Switch to Switch. The 2nd Switch would bring back electric noise back. Right. I have the same set up with 2 different brands of Switch. 1 is a LHY right !!
Hello, I have the Netgear AX2700 Cable Modem Router which the main connection is a RG6 coaxial cable from the wall into the router. Then there are 4 Gigabit ethernet ports that I use for my Streamer, TV's and computer hardwired. Is my only option, to connect for example the one ethernet port from my cable router to the LHY SW-6...then connect the isolater out port to the the streamer? I can't benefit with the the upgrade to the other items I have connected to the cable modem router.
Hi sir, please reach out to us at sales@beatechnik.com. My colleague at Beatechnik who specialised in the Network Switch products will be able to assist you.
You just need the grade of ethernet cable suited to the network speed. The ethernet cable carries digital data, not audio signal. The data presented to your DAC will be the same, absolutely identical, irrespective of the cable, or network switches and routers ( (or streamer!)). The only justification I've seen for audiophile routers and cables is there might be noise on the cable that seeps through to the analogue side of the DAC. If that is even possible you need to replace your DAC. I suspect the problem is that people are using concepts from the analogue audio field in the digital field. SUch analogue concepts are entirely inappropriate to digital signals.
@@flugzeugbeschwerer I'm not aware of any reason why there should be. The data presented to the DAC will be absolutely identical whatever the transport medium, source, etc. [The only possibility I can think of is noise coming off the cables, infecting the digital circuitry and leaking into the post-DAC analogue area, but that would be bad design.] The problem, I suspect, is that people are using, perhaps subconsciously, analogue audio concepts in the digital area where they do not apply at all.
I'm oscillating between buying a sw-10 or the sw-6+ock2 combination. I also want to power the Gustard R26 from the external clock. I will use fiber optic SFP port. Please advise, which combination will give me a better sound?
That's an interesting question. I would opt for SW-10, it features MCLK output, that can be synced with the Gustard R26. The OCXO in the SW-10 is of higher quality!
Why do you have just one isolated port on SW-6? Ok, I understood that it is a custom built switch, but even the cheapest D-Link switches have isolation on ALL PORTS, because it's a safety measure against electrical spikes that might appear (including even lighning damage)
I just received my LHY SW-6 which now feeds my Eversolo DMP A-8. Very nice improvement. Thanks.

Looks very interesting. It is just missing CE certification.

if you like the design then why not, it could actually have better supports on streaming apps, therefore better sound
I understand sw-10 has a superior clock. Does it also have a better power supply than sw-6?

Good day Which side is the phase on the sw6? above or below?
Sw6 vs sw8?
I use Wi-Fi with my dmp-a6 , will plugin dmp-a6 in Ethernet give better sound then Wi-Fi?
What is the exact model number of the Finisar SFP module & the exact # of the FS fiber optic cable

@@VinshineAudio thank you
Would you recommend using regular cat7 cables or audiofile ethernet cables (which are much more expensive)?
regular cat7 unless you have very expensive system you could experiment with expensive cable

Can you match the LHY SW6 with the LHY FMC?
