What’s the alternative to the pointless labours of sisyphus , it’s kinda how we survive , it’s an elaborate market of exchange that ultimately has the basic function of feeding us to continue our pointless existence

The threatre of the Absurd is not the same as Camus’ absurde, if I am correct?

Sure. Call 'em variations of a theme.

So what’s the point, the perfect rhetoric? , the ultimate bald statement, it’s a bit of a one trick pony, how many times do you need to be told? would you sit through a play that’s telling you this over and over? I know it’s the truth but I think I like a bit of diversion with my quest for the sublime. Morse Peckham says “art is the exposure to the tensions and problems of a false world in order that man may endure the tensions and problems of the real world.” Fair nuff.
Stuart Lee does a routine where for 50 minutes , I know I counted them , he repeats the same details about a skate boarder in Milton Keynes , very funny as a concept but like the London Stock Exchange a one off building with all its guts on the outside , it’s not something that evokes emulation or repetition, and in Stuart Lees case it’s was the thirty second time he repeated himself that really made me laugh
The ultimate statement isn’t worth saying, surely that the point of post modernism Kylie is every bit as valid as Michael Angelo, art is invalid , it’s an art form to invalidate art, the revolution will be televised it’s all Sisyphean but how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times , how many times, how many times …..

To be honest, I respond to this theatrical movement the same as any other piece of art: if it creates catharsis in you, fantastic; if not, move on and find something else.

@@OrganicActing i like a bit of analysis though Organic, Im of the opinion that the discussion enhances the comprehension and the overall effect, the artist is a catalyst for the rest of us wankers to wah on about what they've done. Although the artist may role their eyes or nash the teeth really, really they are after recognition , art is a proffered hypothesis that plays to the gallery, its obligatory to discuss, after all "in the room women come and go talking of Michael Angelo."
I fully appreciate the ability to move on but we must be careful not to fall into the philistine bog of not knowing much about art but knowing what we like, like maths homework you have to show the working out.
I too have enjoyed and been stimulated by the theatre of the absurd since i was 16 , i just loved that Eugene Ionesco, its just now seems to be a good juncture to 'discuss '
