This is a true statement. It is in fact lighter than the bugout, cheaper than the bugout, and a lot better than the bugout. It's also better than the hogue deka.
Is it better than the deka? I've always wanted one of those!

I bought the S35VN CF version a couple of months ago and love it. It's only $100 and I like it much better than my Bugout.
Have you had any problems with the size of it? I mean I’m not a big guy about 5’9 170 wear large size gloves. Just super worried about it feeling dinky. In the hand I usually carry a case russlock or a spyderco pm3. Just wanting to know if it’s one of those that’s small in size but still feels big in hand
@@tylorblack3152 I have medium sized hands, and the Mini Nightshade allows me to still get a four finger grip around the handle. I can also open and close it easily one handed. It is small but just big enough. I don't own a Para 3; the closest knife in size I own is the Spyderco Chaparral. The ergos on the Mini Nightshade are much better than the Chaparral.
I wish Vosteed made a folding kukri. But no. This is a "shilin cutter" blade which is a Chinese/taiwanese blade style or you can even say a "leaf-shaped" blade because it was originally supposedly designed to be like a bamboo leaf.
Kukris have a distinct really front heavy recurve styled blade made for chopping
I noticed some Shilin blade shapes that are more like a sheepsfoot-wharnie, but with that forward angle. That would give the knife hawkbill-like functionality.
FYI aluminum and stainless steel are not magnetic, so the magnet test doesn't mean it's titanium. Also the backspacer is made from aluminum. It says it directly on vosteed's site:
• The dedicated backspacer and the thumb stud are made from 416 aluminum, providing great corrosion resistance.
Most stainless steels are magnetic, but not all.

The standard mini is definitely better than the bugout, the premium with carbon fiber and S35VN absolutely demolishes it!!

Several variations of kizer original or original XL have replaced my bugout as an EDC. Such better knifes for a fraction of the price.

Too small, and I like small.
I like the mini pyrite, but it’s a tad too small. It can be a bit difficult to manipulate easily, unless you have small to medium hands. My hands aren’t huge, but I have trouble with the mini pyrite at times.
Of course it’s better than the Bugout. I wish influencers would stop acting like Benchmade makes good knives.

There is a flaw with this Knife. When you close it and the blade drops, it hits the backspacer. I have a premium carbon version one and it hits the backspacer every time it closes. The Back spacer is also Alum not Ti :)
Similar issue with the LTE version of the Terminus XR by SOG, and also one of the Sitivien axis locks that looks inspired by a Sebenza.
Feel like it's more common with axis locks for some reason, but I also own plenty other axis locks that don't have this issue.

Isnt that the regular size Nightshade? The mini is REALLY tiny. The regular has like a 3.2 inch blade. And the blade shape is called shilin slicer

Ok, I own both versions of these. I don’t see at all how this is better than a mini bugout. Granted the mini bugouts, I have are upgraded. Still, the problem with heavy use on these mini nightshades is the detent is weak, also when you push the crossbar down too far, the blade will hit the backspacer. My mini bugouts are bulletproof even with some hard use, this knife, not so much.
Careful closing it in your palm like that if you have hand fat. It will cut you. Found out the hard way.
