Also I was going to ask the Brisbane Marathon has announced that both the Half and Full Marathon are starting at the sametime which I thought was a bit strange for such a large race, but have you got any tips to start the race off as I am a bit concerned with not getting off to a great rhythm/start. I will start off with the 1hr 40min pacer so hopefully they can punch a hole through the masses 😂😂

You’ll be surprised by how quickly it opens up at 1:40 pace. Looking at last year’s results, there will only be about 300-400 people ahead of you. Stick with the pacer and it’ll open up very quickly. The first few minutes may be slow, but it’ll be open after a k or so.

Are you watching your heart rate for the easy runs? Zone 2?
I picked up some new Clifton 9s for my work shoes what I was wearing had 420 and 440kms on but the compaction between the new and old ones was approximately 1cm Crazy 🤪.

That’s my big issue with Hokas. I find that they’re super comfy until they die. I can still remember the step when each of my pairs has died. I always go from jogging in a comfy shoe to feeling the road in one step.
I keep an eye on my HR but it’s not the ultimate guide for me anymore. I run up hills so there’s no stopping it from going up. On my recovery runs it doesn’t hit 130. On my general easy days, it sits around 130.
