Rad of you to check out the video. Us old dogs are stoked to learn from the next generations as much as you are to pay homage to the legends.

I got the same setup but no riser pads, 52mm wheels I can barely ollie on it, im like wth is going on I switched from my popsicle shape deck I dont know if its because there is no nose thats keeping me from leveling the board or I need to really practice with the re issue deck but I see you ollie and other skaters doing crazy tricks no problem

For that video I had just normal risers and 53mm wheels. I recently put on some 64mm g bones wheels and big risers for a more traditional old school set up.

I have a shaped pink Dressen Roses board that I’ve barely tried with a bit of concave and a small upturn on the nose. I can see the benefits of using one on transition but damn it’s unwieldy. A beautiful thing though as is the one you set up.

Another great video! Just think- with all that skating on a big/heavy 10” deck with no nose and hefty 159mids, when you jump back on your 8.5 w/Tensors you’re going to pop like 10ft in the air!!

Awesome ‼️ I like a good hybrid setup.
Not having a nose is definitely challenging. You adapted nicely. Kickflip was impressive. The manual point on it looks really comfortable.

So stoked for you! Great grip-job! Looks awesome! I started skating in 1989 (but eventually quit around 96/97) and those types of boards were still around at that time. But have soon been replaced by popsicle shaped decks. Which was a relief and a great benefit for us at that time to have more concave, a bigger nose and a narrower deck. Today, seeing an old school board gives me the itch to ride and (re)own one just for the experience. If money wasn't an issue I probably would 😉
Wishing you lots of fun with the setup! As already has been said: Bigger wheels might do the trick to get your ollies straight. We used to ride 60mm on those boards.

one of my favorite boards when they originally came out. doing ollies and kickflips or really anything wasn't an issue, we were used to those shapes. mine didn't last too long though, was one of the bonite decks, wasn't too long before the tail just turned to sponge.
