Watching the replay. This is the sweetest Tuesday ever. I love your relationship with Betty, you're so gentle with her ,helping tell her story, it brought some tears to my eyes.

Catching the replay. Betty reminds me of my grandmother. I love the idea of showing a picture and have her tell you what she remembers about it. I think I'll do that with my Mom.

Betty is so adorable. I missed so many stories with my grandparents because I wasnt sure how to get them and now all of my grandparents are gone and have been for a long time. Get the stories while you can. Keep up with the stories Betty, you rock.

Oh how precious to have seen you MIL Betty!! ❤ I love when you share your heritage album! You know my story and how I miss my Mom. I wish I would have more of her stories to put to paper and that I recorded her voice… You and I are the same age I just found out 😉 and the year your Mom passed I got very ill… we all have a story to tell. B/c we were not fortunate to have children I’m not sure why I should write things down but it’s a relieve it seems. Thanks again Lauren for sharing your stories with us 🫶

Oh Lauren, you are so lucky to have Betty helping you. Yesterday I finished my heritage albums for my mothers side of the family plus my mother and father‘s story up to the time my sister and I were born. It’s been a four year undertaking with a ton of research on ancestry, army records, high school records, etc. This project has filled three very large albums and is stuffed full of stories. Aside from my sister, and one cousin there are no family members remaining, so it was very hard to reconstruct exact details of some of the stories. So like you said, get those stories down now while you can and if it takes you years to compile them in a scrapbook that’s fine at least you’ll have the stories.

Such a great video. In the past few years I have been going through boxes and albums that my grandparents had. My grandparents were born in the 20's and were raised during the great depression and they saved everything. My grandmother had over 50 albums stored in a closet, not to mention boxes and drawers full of pictures. I first went through everything and sorted and gave pictures to my Aunts, Uncles and cousins (and even my Dad and his sibling's cousins since there were pictures of them and their parents), but I am still left with quite a lot. Not to mention just the duplicates from the 70's to present day, even the photos from the early 1900's to the 60's, there were duplicates as well. Right now I am doing an album for my Mom on her childhood. I hope to finish that soon and do an album for my Dad and then me. After that I guess I will do more albums with the family photos. Thank you again for this video!

Caught the replay as I was finishing volume 1 of my family. I wish I had known to ask those important questions when I had my family available.

    Hi from Georgia!
I am watching the replay- I watched February POP crop last weekend and also the Tidy-Up where you explained your “sort of new direction”.
I am so excited about the new way you are organizing your POP planner and album making. I started with you in 2022 and followed every step but…. have had a very hard time with the library of memories. I just couldn’t get with that program. I am completely with you in the way I will be scrapbooking- chronological yearbooks and themes! Yay!!! You have made this so easy for me to understand and picture and plan for myself. Thank you!!
Btw I have 4 married children with grandchild #11 in the way- so I needed help and you have given me just what I needed!!

Was so great to catch the show today nice that you still have Betty . I've lost both parents and grand parents, but I think I've got a letter my mother wrote to me about growing up. Hope I can find it.😮

I was to meet with my mother on a Saturday to get some of her family history & hopefully some stories to go with old pics. She died suddenly on Wednesday, just a few days before we were to meet…so yes, do it NOW!

Best tip: talk to your grandparents about their early life and their parents and grandparents, NOW...DO NOT DELAY! Their stories will disappear. Both my grandparents were immigrants during pre WWII, fleeing the rise of Hitler. They left everything behind, including grandparents, parents, and siblings. I never asked the questions about their families; whether they survived the war, were displaced, etc. My parents grew up without grandparents, so they had no information about them. If you have stories about people from the past who are no longer here and you have no pictures...journal and let that journaling take the place of photos in your layout. For example, I did find out that one of my uncles was taken prisoner by the Soviets and used as a slave for 9 years; resettled in eastern Berlin; escaped the Communists; and finally relocated in Norway. I have no photo of him, but the story will be in my heritage album.

By the time my Dad decided to allow us to have the family albums, he was 90 & we spent a week away as a family. Unfortunately, as he went through the albums most of the people he didn't remember their names or what the photo was about, more often he couldn't even remember their names so I have the albums which are really useless as they are just photos of people I don't know. So for those of you who have parents get onto them sooner than later. My mother was already dead & so I have no idea of most of the people in her album as Dad didn't know them either.

Actually, when I think about it, I do not remember much of my childhood at all. It was not a happy one & so I think that I mentally chose not to remember. My granddaughter gave me a book 2 Christmas's ago to fill out the pages as they have questions but to be totally honest, I can't answer any of them, so I decided to do my own headings but have not gotten back to it. So I had better do so once I have my eyes fixed & I can see properly again.
