Hello Father. I’ve been really enjoying your sermons on TH-cam. I subscribed to your channel. I looked you up to learn more about you and where you are now preaching from. From the courageous clergy web site, I see that you entered the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in 1999 at the Marian Friary of Our Lady, Spouse of the Holy Spirit in Maine, NY. I grew up in Endicott NY. I currently live in NC. What a small world. Thank you for the videos. God bless you!
Thank you for the courageous and tough love, Father. Often, in today's time, we think there is something wrong with us when we see the direction of the crowd and and we choose not to follow. I like watching world history, especially the early years of what led up the the 3rd Reich and how easily people allowed themselves to be bamboozled. How many of us today would resist raising our arms to salut the fuher.
i agree totally! yet i also find it amazingly hypocritical how catholicism stands strong for Exodus 20:13, yet totally ignores and even teaches contrary Exodus 20:8-11
That’s an excellent point and difficult to respond to adequately in Comments. Keep in mind the transition taking place in Acts and the exercise of authority (the keys) by the Apostles. Please also see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 2175-6. Other good resources for the Catholic explanation are magisterium.com and Catholic Answers. Let me know if I can be of any more help.
@@ignatiusmanfredonia i've actually read in catholic 'encyclopedia' where it's admitted they'd changed God's Command to the 1st day -- thus mandating sin. the Bible is crystal clear, this system isn't Christianity -- if it were, it would show love to Christ as He stated -- John 14:15 but it doesn't -- so there's our answer, Sir.
@ Thank you for the thoughtful and respectful response. It’s important to remember, however, that Jesus, Who is Lord even of the sabbath (Mk 2:28), is building His Church upon the foundation of the Apostles (Mt 16:18; Rev 21:14) and through their successors, to whom He has given His authority (Jn 20:21). It is this Church that is “the pillar and bulwark of the truth” (1 Tim 3:15). From the earliest times, Christians fulfilled the 3rd Commandment on Sunday, not the sabbath. St. Ignatius (+107), the 3rd bishop of Antioch and disciple of St. John the Evangelist, wrote, “Those who lived according to the old order of things have come to a new hope, no longer keeping the sabbath, but the Lord’s Day, in which our life is blessed by him and by his death.” The Catholic Church is doing what Christians have always done. It would be useful to know when, where and from whom did the belief that Christians are bound to observe the sabbath like the Jewish people originate? Blessings +
The Catholic Church traditionally taught that NFP was immoral from the beginning. Sorry no one can change something from being morally bad to morally acceptable not even Pope Pius XII. In the 1950s they changed the teaching to say that for grave reasons (not just reasons), that a couple may use it. A tolerance for sin doesn’t make it not a sin. I follow Tradition. It is always sinful to use NFP. There are seven circumstances to each action that you take. If even one of those is morally bad then the whole action is rendered morally evil. The inherent intention of NFP to avoid conception and the actions taken to subvert procreation is what makes it evil in all cases. You chart the cycle daily taking temperatures, checking the color of things ect. in effort to choose the time when conception is most unlikely. That is evil. It is a condom just not in the physical sense. Onan (Old Testament) died for this stuff and you guys want to play around in it. The marital act is for the begetting of children not for you to indulge your passions.
By the way, I was taught NFP as a teenager in high school by a doctor and a Catholic priest. We were taught as a class boys and girls together. I literally wrote off the entire teaching because of how blatantly hypocritical it is. No birth control. It is wrong. Wait use this extra special birth control with all this extra baggage to get around the rules. It is “Catholic” approved.
@ You wrote that you follow Tradition, but it seems as though you follow it according to your understanding and not the Church’s. It’s necessary for Catholics to understand both Scripture and Tradition as the Church understands them.
Good teaching points, thanks. But perhaps change the angle of the camera (or is it phone)? Because at this angle the camera is focussing on your 1 day stubble and nostrils! A bit distracting...
@@ignatiusmanfredonia The homily was good, and I wanted to send to some friends, some who think "the church must keep up with the times" i.e. follow the crowd. My apologies, I didn't know you were a 1-man show. In most parishes including mine, the cameras are wall-mounted, so straight ahead or top down angle towards the Altar (in case of tall persons blocking).
@@ignatiusmanfredonia well, if we believe Scripture, it's clearly explained: sin = transgression (breaking) of God's law -- 1 John 3:4 His law is written clearly in Exodus 20. yet we see catholicism still making and bowing to statues, idols, body parts -- in violation of Exodus 20:4-6 and we see them ignoring what Exodus 20:8-11 clearly states, now pretending the 1st day is the Lord's day, while Scripture is clear that It can only be the 7th day Sabbath and forever will be. interestingly, the latter Commandment was prophesied to be tampered with. the system which did this, they freely admit and teach that it was them.
@@ignatiusmanfredonia further, His Commandments are declared as 'Truth' -- Psalm 119:142, 151 so any system which stands contrary His Ten Commandments, is clearly a system which refutes the Truth of our Creator & Saviour. in other words, it's antichrist.

Dont forget NFP goes against the marriage contract as well, unfortunately I bought it and now its much to late.
