MK3s with opening windows and DVT's, a missed oportunity here in England. Would've been much nicer for the punters on a longish journey than a plastic DMU :-) Remember those Thumpers well too, visited in the 80's and rode on 70,80,and the then "new" 450's. Spent many happy hours working on their English parents too, our old 201/202/203s, etc. Happy days. Always thought the driver had to hang on for dear life when those 071s began bucking ! The ride in the adjacent coach can't have been much fun either !
Fantastic video from the 90s. The sight of the 071s bouncing up and down and side to side travelling at nearly 100mph is some sight and sound
