I like how chat keeps repeating that it's pronounced scadu because it's Old English, but if I may put on my historical linguistics nerd glasses, as long as it's not actually spelled "sceadu", the first reaction pronunciation of people is correct. Without the e, sc does not become a "sh" but a "sk"
Well, I guess we found out toward what kind of player and build FromSoft balanced this DLC out, given how Bricky rolled over bosses most people (including me) have spent hours bashing their head against.
To be fair i dont know what people were doing. Like ive heard from a lot of people they got 80% of their hp take by most normal moves when they had 60 vigor, which just wasnt happening to me, and i by no means had an abormaly high blessing level (and played pre buff), like i had 3 for Renalla and could take a few hits, same with most other bosses. And the same is happening here to bricky, hes also quite tanky, and yes while its after the buff, the buff at most makes about a 10% difference, so the damage def wouldnt be what people described even if you take the 10% into account.
@@PigeonOfTheAbyss It's the Radahn effect all over again LMAO In one patch Fromsoft adjusted Radahn's hitboxes to be more accurate, accidentally they also cut his damage in half. They fixed it a week later, but to this day people swear Radahn is nerfed to a shadow of his former self, even though he deals exactly the same ammount of damage as before, with the same ammount of aggression as before but now with more accurate hitboxes. Balteus in Armored Core VI too. Fromsoft decided to slightly nerf the tracking of one of his attacks and to this day there are people who brag about beating pre-nerf Balteus, even though he's barely any different. What happens is, From looks closely at their bosses just after release to see if there's anything unintended going on, and then they patch things a week after their games are already out, meaning people are past the worst parts of the initial difficulty curve. They slightly nerf some things, the playerbase fights the "nerfed" content and concludes the nerfs made the content too easy even though it is their experience allowing them to more easily go through stuff. Confirmation Bias 101. In short, the Soulsborne fanbase has a very loud, very dumb minority within it that never took a single class on how to properly test their assumptions as to why things are the way they are.
Tbf he's using the dragoncrest greatshield talisman which serves like 4 skibidi blessings worth of damage negation. Poison and rot help a ton as well, so does impaling thrust with the amount of stance damage it does even on tiny weapons. Don't get me wrong, Brickster is a good gamer however the build is very much carrying him and the later bosses will be the real skill-check given that they're balanced around full blessing.
I'd be nice to see more variety in weapon gameplay. The poke-poke becomes a little tedious to watch, even though very functionnal. I was hyped when the twin swords were introduced and then disappeared for some reason
People think way to much into this "nerf". On average, it's around 15% more damage dealt and 10% less taken. So just like using "Golden Vow". It isn't nothing, but I don't think it is that much of a game changer.
if that average is consistent, 10% less damage taken is huge, think about it, if 3 hits of a single combo killed you before, that 10% less damage makes that same 3 hit combo do in total 30% less damage as every hit is weaker, what killed you in 3 hits before now suddenly only does a bit more that half of your life, and the same applies to the player, if every attack is 15% stronger, the bosses and mini bosses will go down a LOT faster, with only 10 strikes the total damage difference is 150%, that's more than double the damage difference and that is only 10 hits. "isn't much of a game changer" my ass, buffing or nerfing in % in such a wide spectrum is tricky and it can go overboard really fast if the changes are bigger than 5%, but 10 or 15 on average? suddenly it seems like every mob and boss got dehydrated and their weapons dulled, meanwhile the tarnished got a blood transfusion from doom slayer along with a whiff of ranni's blessing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and got lot more motivated.

Welcome To Death Talley. In today's rendition, we will be starting a separate count for _specifically_ the DLC deaths, which will then be added to the _main game_ talley at the end of the Brichard's DLC journey. As per the usual rules, we will only count ON SCREEN deaths--furthermore, you should _Not_ trust the Doot Talley onscreen. While it will give you a rough approximation, we at the Death Talley are keeping meticulous notes about each and every death. With that out of the way--lets get into the death talley. it's actually pronounced "skibidi"

The defense boosting talisman actually makes a huge difference. I was getting 2-3 shot by everything before equipping it
It depends, after you're past like 15 blessings it no longer really matters. At that point more health is better.

He has a good build, allows him to reliably exploit lots of openings and deal good damage with the rot and poisebreaks
