Oh my goodness! Dear, sweet Betty, please don't be sad, dearest! You are so loved and safe and cared for. I HATE dementia and Alzheimer's, wicked, evil diseases!
She doesn't mean home home, she means greater glory. When they're getting closer to passing away, they talk more and more about going home. It's good to give permission and tell her you all love her and will miss her but you wiil be ok.
Reminds me of my mom...she had dementia as well. She waited for me to come home from work and wanted me to drive her home. Even tho she was already at home 😢
Your mum is just like my mum. She was always worrying about holding me back or holding me up. I don't regret the time we spent together. You wont regret it either. You all are still making memories. 🥰
It makes me crying and sad 😪🥹. You make it so great with your sad and scaring mom ❤❤. Noone could actually see what was in her mind 🥺😔. It was good to be at home. My mom was 3 weeks in an careing home and died than with knowing never can go back home. God bless you and your family ❤❤❤.
My mom did this to...they were days you just couldnt get her out of it...she just had to go home and was sad....i would just accept that...try to distract with something else....like cookies❤ anything chocalate❤❤
Ma.Betty needs a good ole smoothie. Kale, spinach, berries, parsley, cilantro, and pomegranate seeds and maybe pineapples. If her meds allows. She’ll feel better. She may be tired of feeling like this…
Oh, man. This gives me the feels. This is my wife exactly at least every 2nd or 3rd evening of the week. 😭 Redirection helps sometimes, but not always.
I watch numerous videos of Betty I am a Parkinson’s. Patient and I can see myself in Betty. I also have had a major stroke in the area of my brain where my Parkinson’s sits I also have had so many TIAs my brain looks terrible I get confused just like Betty all the time I also have severe spinal diseases that have caused also less use of my body I am now in a wheelchair. I cannot bath myself every day things that people take for granted our impossible for me. I have three daughters that are middle-age that live within 20 minutes of me but I think they don’t want to see me because they were afraid of their own destiny, so I never see them or hear from them and it breaks my heart because I was always there for them as a mother should be Also do not get to see my grandkids. I haven’t drove in over 14 years. My husband who I’ve been married to since 1977 Has distance himself from me to I know it’s difficult for you to see your mother like this, but just understand she is as confused as you are, and she realize it sometimes not all the time My thoughts and prayers with all of you Take care and God bless 🙏🏼
People always miss their homeplace when they move away very much, especially the elderly. It's a change that isn't dealt with very well. It's a sad situation.❤❤
FYI - saying "Don't be sad" is invalidating and negative. If possible say something like "I see you're sad, but there is no need as we are all staying here tonight together . Would you like that? " then the person is likely to say yes and you can say, "great. Are you happier now?" People with dementia may not remember why they are sad but do remember that the feel sad, so understanding but switching the feeling will remain.

Learned from national ALZ org that most often Going “Home” to our Alzheimer’s folks mean they want to be “normal” again.

Maybe instead of repeating the word 'sad' - try to emphasize being 'happy' so maybe Betty will think of happy thoughts.
😊❤
She looks at him as he deceive her
My mom would get like that when she was sundowning
So sad everyday she has to live with dementia
He should remain her repeating you moved to my house and so on explaine the hole thing .
Put music on for Betty😊
She knows.
