Truly wonderful- tears me apart and puts me back together again. Follows the great pop rule of getting a girl to sing a song from a male perspective- ie, "These Boots Are Made For Walking" or "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" etc. Also, so wonderful to see Ricki from the BJM contribute so respectfully here, you can sense his love of McComb's music and what it meant & referred to. This concert feels like some epochal event of the descendants of old-australia, somehow embodying the lives of the people onstage and in the audience.
@Gibbletto Thank you so much! I have wondered about that song for years (and I am sure my neighbours know all the words too because I still sing it in the shower!) And so happy it's from a CD I can probably still buy. You've made my night /hugs
Would anyone know where I could find "Breathe" by Melanie Oxley and Chris Abrahams from their "Welcome to violet" album? I've been looking for it for decades and not being able to find it is driving me insane!! Thanks.
There was a song from the late 80's or early 90's with lyrics that Melanie Oxley sang, such as 'smell of sugar from the liquor night before' and ' the money jar is pressed against the last paperback, to stop it from falling on the floor'. Does anyone know the title of the song, and from what album?
mels beautiful voice makes me weep instantly and I love it thanks mel

Heart breaking and deeply moving performance of David’s song.

It's most of the remaining Triffids who chose to be billed as the Triffids and friends for this show and a number of major performances since then.

I saw this show in London April 9th 2010, and Melanie was definatly the stand out !!
