It's already been proven that parts of these segments are "predetermined" if it makes the bit more funny. Kronii admitted to everyone that she lost during the 3D tug of war because management said that it was more interesting that way. Kanata's physically fit and she's in her 20's, and she didn't even sound like she was tired. She just let go of the bar and went, "Eh!" and that was it.

For Kanata, grip strength doesn't really matter much for hanging.
The truth comes out to newer viewers, Kanata has no upper-body strength (according to herself), only grip strength. She can't lift those weights but she can hold on to them pretty tightly.

Hanging like that requires only grip strength (and stamina), no upper body strength is required (except for forearms of course). Kanata obviously forfeited the challange (or she's super heavy, like 100kg+ which is... unlikely )

The dead hang works and strengthens the following muscle groups:
upper back.
shoulders.
core.
forearms.
hand and wrist flexors.
I thought this is obvious to everyone, but apparently not.
I was more surprised by how little time Iroha lasted since she apparently has more stamina as seen in the dance lesson streams
But then again it's not like stamina's the only factor to consider. There's the grip, shoulders, forearms etc. that could easily affect the length of time
you really think a Hoshiyomi want to try and compare to Suisei?
stamina as in cardio is a totally different thing from muscular endurance. Cardio is all about how well your body can carry oxygen. The reason you get tired when you're jogging is usually because your heart can't pump oxygen to your muscles fast enough, not because you used up all your muscular strength.
Muscular endurance is about how long your muscles can stay tensed before they give out, which is what these hangs are doing to your forearms and fingers. It doesn't involve much cardio at all.
But another factor for why Iroha didn't last very long could be just mental limitation. Your mind tends to wanna give up long before your muscles do, but you could go a lot further if you can endure the pain. Of course don't go too far or you risk injury

Additionally hanging like that is not that easy. If you don't practice stuff like bouldering - it could be surprisingly hard for wrists and fingers.

Apparently Choco-sen ended up as first place overall (or second, after Lamy, since there is two rankings one of which includes Lamy and the other doesn't) which was not something I was expecting of her. Looks like she got hidden strength.
Suisei apparently got joint second place in both the rankings with and without Lamy (tied with Choco and Noel, respectively). Those axe swings and dance training really must have trained her muscles well.
Final rank are as follows:

I imagine Choco-sen must appreciate the benefits of keeping your body in a good shape like few others do
Lamy knew how to hang compared to everyone else, she looked the most relaxed which is the best way for anyone, regardless of strength, to do well in this challenge. By moving around a lot or tightening your grip your essentially expending more energy, making your muscles work harder than they need to, and hastening the feeling of exhaustion

Ironically, they’re playing Godzilla’s theme during Kong (Kanata)’s turn.
The virtual bar isn't a mocapped version of the real iron bar, it's just for visual. Therefore it didn't register the fact that kanata disintegrated the iron bar within few seconds of gripping it.

what, Lamy and Noel both have 40kg grip strength which is only slightly less than Kanata. If Lamy is not on the heavier side, this would be easy for her even considering the debuff from big boing boings
You don't need "good genetics" to be able to dead hang for a minute. It's easy as hell, especially if you're not fat.
Lamy was very into bouldering when she was younger, which is why she's good at this. Not just the grip strength, but also using her back and shoulder muscles

I decided to test myself, I managed to hang from a bar for 1 minute and 12 seconds. It's a good thing I've been training my grip strength lately.
1 minute is really good, I’m so proud of you Lamy. I’m also really proud of the rest of the girls for trying their best.

Yes, grip strength plays a part, but what really carries are all of the arms and shoulders. Flexibility is included (mostly in shoulders). When people say "stamina", they refer to running/dancing stamina, but that has nothing to do with the arms. They have no arm strength stamina.
