I appreciate and acknowledge your skills. I must be an old-school reject in some ways as I would much rather hear your work progressing than the music. The most popular YT videos actually have no music, just the sound of the activity and the ambience of the surroundings. But then I can drive for hours - literally - with no radio, no music, just me to my thoughts. You have a gift none-the-less and thank you for sharing.
THANK YOU SOO MUCH :D
Music was Matt Bauer!!!!
THANK YOU!!!
Lol i was just asking myself this... 7 years later 😂... Way cool 🤙
i wonder if alec still looks at any of these old videos. they're so much more educational as compared to his newer stuff
It is an edge bottom tool for the square, sharp edges. If you would like to see the making of such a tool please see 'forging an edge tool with Alec Steele' the video by Daniel Lea! this particular one was made from a jack hammer bit and thus has this the hexagonal shape! Thank you very much for your kind words!
You make it look so easy! Great job.
we are very lucky to have you share your skills for us to enjoy thankyou
That's awesome man. You've got some real talent.
Excellent video. You are truely a gifted and talented craftsman.Keep up the good work and more videos please. Thanks for taking the time to edit and post this clip.

Just watched a few of Alec's vids - great thanks
Man! That's one mighty voice for a blacksmith - like watching Lord Of The Rings combined with David Hasselhoff running on the beach!

dude you have talent. :)
Thank you, sir!
es muy bueno este arte y lo haces paracer facil, voy a intentarlo
So I gave this a go... didnt turn out very good for a horse. But I found out if you make the first two notches top of the head and spread them out a bit more it makes a decent alligator. Lol.
Great video

great work, and great video Alec. What kind of steel did you use for the opener? Would Mild work, or do you recommend something like coil spring steel or 4140 instead?
wow dude!
Hey Alec, what steel size do you prefer for making them?
Beautiful work! I'm curious what the cost and time frame would be for 6 of them. Looking for a unique groomsmen gift for my wedding next weekend, and I'd say this fits the bill for sure!
Dear Daniel,
Firstly, congratulations on your wedding! I would love to work with you on getting these to you in time. Could you email me at info@alecsteeleblacksmith.com so I can quote you for the 6 + shipping?
Best of luck and warmest regards,
Alec Steele

Nice job on the vids.

15-20 minutes

look in description =]
what the music in the background?
Blacklight horses by Matt Bauer
Very Nice!! Would you be willing to sell one?
How long to make it
Can be taught by you
what size stock is that? i'm guessing 3/4 x 1/8. is that right? :)
I'm almost positive it's 1 x 1/4
1/4 seems a little thick...but it would be solid if it were! I tried using 1/8 and it seemed pretty solid. It wasn't nearly as pretty as this one! :)
это типа брелок такой ?
how did you make your anvil to not to ring as much
Attaching a magnet to the neck of it stops ringing. But that might just be in railway track anvils.
ok thanks
He probably mounted it really good to a stand that is really good mounted to the floor. No movement = no ring.
I wish I
Yo, anybody here too? 12/2020
