It’s worth noting that pretty much all of tt artisan and Chinese lenses may need some calibration. Being able to turn the focus ring to hard stop infinity and know that you’re in focus is crucial for a manual focus lens. This is easy to do on most lenses, but the 25mm f2 I have the adjustment screws have been glued, so it’s quite an additional step to change ( either taking apart the whole lens or heating the glue points - yikes! -so screws are free. ). Unless you’re a handy person I would not recommend these lenses, if you want accurate focussing.

Pretty much any manual lense focus past infinity.

I agree, its so rare in life that you can get an f1.4 lens for only a few tens of dollars more, its worth it to get the 23, its a full stop faster and its one of the cheapest stops of light you can buy. I got mine a while ago and I'm out walking around taking snapshots in the middle of the night. I just double checked and the 23 is actually double the price of the 25, but I got my 23 on sale at Chinese New Year. Even at full price, the 23 cost less tha my camera bag, or my tripod, I have a lens adapter that's more expensive, I actually paid more for my sneakers than for this 23mm f1.4 lens. Actually, a typical trip to the grocery store costs me more than I paid for this lens. It has various image quality flaws, but so do all my other lenses that cost way more, and with this lens, the pictures just look cool, even the thumbnails look cool. I wouldn't go for the 25 to save money, and I wouldn't go for it for its smaller size either, the camera fits in a coat pocket just fine with the 23. The 25 is making some funky shapes in the bokeh that I'm not seeing with the 23. I feel like the money I spent on this lens might be the best value thing I've ever bought relating to cameras and lenses. I suppose the only downside is it probably won't be worth very much if I ever try to sell it, other than that, its giving me amazing value, I'm casually grabbing hand held snapshots in the pitch black of night at f1.4 with gear that if I drop it it barely even matters.
I'd love to see some test of some wider lenses like the 12mm f2 and f2.8s from the various Chinese brands, particularly how they might handle a starry sky or nightime cityscape in terms of coma. I also find the 50mm f2 interesting as a small telephoto for mft, but I already have 2 helios so I don't think I can justify buying another 50mm f2, even for how cheap it is, but it would be great for travelling, if it doesn't suck too bad.

You failed to mention price/performance ratio. In that respect the 25/2 wins.

In this case, the high price is justified. And I'm ready to overpay for the benefits that the TTArtisan 23mm gives

@@PantleyLensTest Perhaps it is a case of the typical Chinese lens variation (QC) from one copy to another. My 25/2 exhibits none of the traits yours does. In fact it is quite a steel at the US$60 price. Same goes for its big brother the near identical looking and size 50mm f/2.
