Bahco makes the S-Jaw pliers. A company that is owned by Snap-On. Bahco also made the adjustable wrenches for Snap-On, which are now made in the USA with the same design. I like Icon for home use or tools I won't use often. Like the S-Jaw quick adjust pliers. Icon is pretty good quality. When it comes to the Knipex knock offs, I'll just stick with Knipex. If you want a good water pump plier without spending Knipex price, Doyle pliers are pretty damn good.
I like a lot of the icon stuff and they work for a lot of things but the steel just is no where near as hard they will break and the teeth will wear out a lot quicker.
I’d have to say I’m happy with any of em. Comes down to necessity of convenience of warranty, and that’s different for everyone. I’d say it isn’t that iconic is going cheap somewhere but that the others are just overpriced. Theres a lot of people needing money on snap on truck plus financing plus fuel plus time plus weekly warranty
i have the icon "twin grip" pliers they are awesome but im sure the knipex is better i just wanted to try them out and not spend knipex money now that i know they are good ill probably grab the knipex version when these go by the way they werent out at my HF either i had to ask them to check in the back they didnt even know they had them
