Ah, Norway... Been too long since I last drove over there from Finland to look at the fjords and mountains. Beautiful country, though sheep are a bigger traffic stopper there than reindeer in Finland. Also, been listening to Kvelertak since their first album came out, 11/10 band. \m/ By the way, another great hardcore/metal band is Raised Fist from Sweden
I've been hoping someone would react to these guys. I've loved them for years!! This genre is called death n roll. This is from their self titled first album and the whole album is as good as this!! Another similar band to check is Chrome Division which is lead by Shagrath from Dimmu Borgir. They kind of sound like a cross between Norweigian black metal & Motorhead. Their second album, Booze Broads & Beelezebub is really good stuff.
In case you're still wondering how it's pronounced, here you go; forvo.com/word/kvelertak/ It's the norwegian word for "Stranglehold"! And this song, "Blodtørst", means "Blood Thirsty". 🙂 Cool with a norwegian double header btw, guys! I have several more norwegian bands for you to check out, Pagan's Mind being one of them, so I'm waiting patiently for that. 😄👍
Happens to the best of us! :) But yeah, it sort of depends on how you look at it. Considering it spreads the way it does "thirst" makes more sense. To me at least! :) But like I said. Fuckin details brah. Bad ass band and bad ass track either way. ;)
I saw these guys in Tuska a couple of years back when i went there because of Wintersun playing there, i love this album, such a fun mix of great genres. It was kind of a sad gig since it was just 1 day after the mass shooting in Norway, the guys gave it all they had eventhough you could sense the sadness. Btw Wintersun are doing 3 gigs in Finland where fans get to vote what 10 songs we wanna hear live(from the first 3 albums), too bad we can't pick The Way of the Fire (I will vote for it anyway :)) I will go to the show at Helsinki atleast, the other 2 are in kinda weird towns(too far away) that i'm not sure i can attend.
I see some people think this is swedish, and that is wrong. They are from the western part of Norway and they sing in Norwegian. So, lets be clear on that. I'm from Norway so I should know:) I've been requesting this for some time so thank you guys for the video! Keep rocking:)
WindRider I can vouch for that. I'm living in Stavanger (South Western part of Norway), and these guys are singing in a local dialect. The closest thing to it would be the written version of Norwegian, called "Nynorsk". Look it up on Google, it's a good read if you're in to Norwegian music and history.
Erlend(the vocalist of Kvelertak) is actually only singing the first verse. Ivar Nikolaisen(Vox for Silver and The Good The Bad and The Zugly) is singing the rest of the song. Killer Voice!
Månelyst next! This song is from the same album. (I know you already listened to it, but your kid should listen to it too!) It's even more hyped, more melodic, and (although short) it's got a solo that reminds me of children of bodom!
Benbong isn't månelyst from their second album "Meir"? This track, "blodtørst" is from their debutalbum. And what a great debutalbum it is. "Fossegrim" is another awesome track.
My fault! Fossegrim is my favourite though. Their new album is cool as well, but it's less heavy, and i like it when it's heavier and balls-to-the-wall
I discovered KVeletak many years ago when seing the indiemovie Trolljaegerna. I thought it was a joke movie at first but it turned out to be really fucking good =) ANd kvelertak is fucking great.
This one had some punk influences, but it was also groovy, and had some pretty clever transitions in there, too. I liked it a lot. The video, to me, stole the show. I was cackling with laughter the whole time. The warriors are killing each other and cutting heads off, and they stop for a second to look up at the owl in the rafters. The owl blinks at the like, "Dude, really?" Later, as things have gone even crazier, the owl's like, "Screw this, I'm out. You people have lost your damned minds." The whole artistic vibe of the video reminds me of what a bored 9th grader scribbles in his notebook as he's bored at the back of pre-algebra class. Awesome.
React to In Mourning !!! Saw Kvelertak oppening for Metallica in Lisboa , it was dissapointing . I knew them, and i like the sound, but it didnt convenced me.
Kvelertak's song "Kvelertak" is like my number one song with my drinking buddies when we need to pump the hype up. th-cam.com/video/Eelfbl1ZLrE/w-d-xo.html
Rebecca Hope I can see why the lyrics might be mistaken for Swedish, but it's Norwegian written in a "spoken dialiect". Hard to explain. It's written in the same way they speak in parts of Western Norway

I think it's "Blood Thirst". But hey, details.
MrDollarRoxx Yess Pagan's Mind please!
FeistyFerret Yeah, you're right! My mind worked a bit too quick there. Or slow. Depends on how you look at it I guess. x)

These guys are fu***** crazy!! Best Norwegian live band!
3:46 What you hear there are three guitars playing at the same time

Ivar is also the new main Vocalist for Kvelertak!
Saw them at "Tons of Rock" this year: Awesome!
PAGAN'S MIND - GOD'S EQUATION!
Second that!
Such a energetic band!
Månelyst next! This song is from the same album. (I know you already listened to it, but your kid should listen to it too!) It's even more hyped, more melodic, and (although short) it's got a solo that reminds me of children of bodom!

True story
When the band is from Norway, and the lyrics in description is in Swedish....
Have you guys thought about reacting to punk rock or something similar :O? I'd recommend Bad Religion - I Want to Conquer the World to start with :D.
We have done Bloodclot....Bad Religion is one of my fav punk rock band of all time...with NOFX.
You should check Strokkur - Song of the future.. That's the former drummer of Hammerfalls new band...
Theres a finnish "death n roll" band called Ghoul Patrol... You should check it out. Maybe songs like six feet under or louisiana pit.
Yeeeaa
This reaction is long waited loved it
Have a go at:
Anaal Nathrakh - The Lucifer Effect
Completely bonkers. You might like it! :)
Malevolence- self supremecy
Black n roll
Eye of the enemy - The shift
any given day - arise or eskimo callboy -cyrstals (crystals is more serious than mc thunder ^^)
React to In Mourning !!!
Saw Kvelertak oppening for Metallica in Lisboa , it was dissapointing . I knew them, and i like the sound, but it didnt convenced me.
Need a little sauna metal to relax? Try Ensiferum "Way of the Warrior" ;-)
Try the (easily) metal band ever. NECROPHAGIST- you can choose the song
I can also mention that this band never release their lyrics!:)
Purified In Blood - Under den svarte himmel. This is another balls-to-the-wall-norwegian-metal band, except it's melodic death/punk....
Kvelertak's song "Kvelertak" is like my number one song with my drinking buddies when we need to pump the hype up. th-cam.com/video/Eelfbl1ZLrE/w-d-xo.html

React to 'Winter' (Oceans of Slumber)

Blodtørst = bloodthirst
react to Varg - Das Ende Aller Lügen

It is clear that the little dude doesn't know how to play guitar lol
One of the many things he is not good at.
Btw, this song is in Swedish for some reason, LOL!
wow, really??? interesting. It all sounds the same to me. lol
A&P-REACTS Nooo it's not. It's Norwegian, they have a Western Norwegian accent, probably from around the city of Bergen.
the lyrics are written in Swedish so yeah. Only the Blod Tørst part is Norwegian as far as I can tell. Kinda weird lol
Rebecca Hope I can see why the lyrics might be mistaken for Swedish, but it's Norwegian written in a "spoken dialiect". Hard to explain. It's written in the same way they speak in parts of Western Norway
It's not in swedish, ahahaha. It's a local dialect
DO KVELERTAK - KVELERTAK !!!! EVER BETTER !!!
