Great to see you both having a good time in Whitby! Fab video, great views too. Have you or are you visiting Robin Hoods Bay? Another fantastic place nearby… and another epic hill to walk back up! Thank you as always 😀
Great bit of history and also lovely views, those steps look like a proper work out but worth it for the sights you see at the top. Love your videos, aswell as your friends channel, the magic geekdom x
Last time I climbed the 199 steps and tried counting them, some kids passed me and they were counting out loud so I lost count. The reason I was counting them that time is that on a previous climb I had only counted 198 both going up and going down. Did you try Beckett's Café on Skinner Street. Honestly my favourite place for home-made soup, a sandwich and home-made cake on the entire Yorkshire coast. They also do dog treats for people with furry friends.
Also, Silver Street Fisheries is the best Fish and Chips Takeaway in Whitby in my opinion. An even bigger thing in their favour is that, as far as I am aware, James Corden has never set foot in the place!
Lewis Carroll came to Whitby loads of times. The Walrus and the Carpenter is thought to have been inspired by his long walks on Whitby beach and theres a blue plaque outside the Rosa hotel (on the west cliff) where he stayed.
Looks amazing. I want to go to Whitby as thats where Heartbeat was filmed and used to love watching it. (well a little village just a few minutes away!!)
The Goth weekends, April and October, are completely sold out every year, Whitby has some weird and wonderful things going on those weekends that have to be seen to be believed. I loved Whitby, but I wouldn't have wanted to go out after it starts to get dark! Especially when it's foggy!!
You should have visited the museum and seen the 'hand of glory' and for a meal that isn't fish and chips you need to go to Humble Pie and Mash a 1940s themed cafe.
Loved watching this. We visit whitby every year and its nice to see it from someone elses perspective. We usually end up doing the same thing each time we go, cant say ive seen that sherlock cafe before 🤔 gonna have to go next time 😊 😊😊😊
Hopefully you can find some of the places on your next visit! There’s still a load more we haven’t done and seen so no doubt we will be back again too.
Yep Whitby is weird. Did you climb all those steps to the ruined castle???? Not sure I could do it now. Lovely fish and chips and I remember we stayed in a very odd hotel.😉😉
There are 199 steps and they are numbered with little discs on the steps 😂 Also, did you not look for the two gravestones that have skull and crossbones carved on them!
The Real Vlad Tepes Dracula is buried in Romania in his homeland. I know they say his body is not their as they found animal bones instead of his body, but it is nice to believe Count Dracula is alive and somehow roaming the world.. even though he is just a fictional charactor in a famous book! My womanly brain XD! whitby is beautiful no wonder Bram Stoker wrote that famous novel their it's a beautiful town!
Hi guys, ive just found your vids and you've been to places ive been to! So good to see whitby from your points of view! I love Whitby. You should do another trip here during the Goth Weekend. I last went to Whitby two years ago and had fish and chips on the pirate ship by the harbour.
@@JJExtra They also have a steam punk weekend too! That gets quite packed. Can I make another suggestion? Hastings. There's a lot to discover there from a true crime museum to the Smugglers Caves with their interactive underground passages. I think you two would find that fun!

One of the best weekends of my life was at the Whitby gothic weekend
Gosh you boys crack me up!!
Josh, you would make a damn fine pirate! 😂
I love Whitby it’s one of my favourite places people always go on about Dracula but it’s famous for Captain James Cook also .
That is true! We have also never done a boat trip from Whitby either so definitely plenty of reasons to go back 😊
