I've been on the HC8 world and I have to say that watching your videos does not do justice to your builds. They are so much more impressive in person. You've come a long way as a builder and I can't wait to see what you do in the rest of this series as well as HC9. Keep up the great work.
QOTD: I love the new gorgeous terrain that we can get without terraforming. As a builder who plays almost entirely in creative (when I play singleplayer), I’m used to spending most of my time just terraforming. Now, with biomes like lofty peaks, I don’t have to spend hours and hours placing blocks anymore; being able to simply tweak the existing landscape rather than having to build everything from scratch really makes such a difference and has massively reduced my creative burnout. I’ve been spending so much longer in the game lately because I can spend most of my time building the stuff I really enjoy now, rather than expending 90% of my energy on the set pieces. The only thing I haven’t been enjoying is the village generation, which is still somewhat wonky. I really like to connect the things I build to existing world structures in a sort of practical way, and I’ve seen some REALLY wonky village generation in 1.18, stuff that reminds me of the issues we had back when villages were first introduced. It makes it harder to integrate a build into the world landscape.
As a builder, I love the new scenery, but hate falling down unexpected holes. I'm also found that the size of the biomes can limit your access to resources. I'm playing this seed that you gave us, and it's spectacular, but I never thought that I'd be grateful to the Wandering Trader for providing spruce saplings!
Man the people who are accusing you of cheating are little kids who haven't played survival properly or they would've known that cheating benefits nobody and takes all the fun out of the game. Those who've played a world for sometime know the joy of the grind and can see that you aren't cheating
Your death in the nether is literally the curse I had for every single hardcore world I made, I could be geared to the teeth and still get yeeted by a random blaze because they have aimbot
QOTD: I love the views. Feels like something you’d see in a terrain generation mod. Gives you new ways to build and more inspiration. I don’t like how hard it can be to find ores now though. With the bigger caves feels like many more mobs. I feel you definitely need to be more prepared and armoured up for the new caves
QOTD I like the mountains and the changes to light level mobs spawn at. I dislike the lack of coal at lower levels. Inventory is already sketchy to deal with without also having to bring along a ton of coal for a decent mining trip.
You don't need to change the way you play or record for people telling you your cheating, nor do you owe them an explanation. The people that love your content and playthroughs know you're an honest player! Do you Jev! Love watching your videos, so relaxing. Keep up the good work.
QOTD: I love how massive and diverse the new caves are. It makes exploring caves so much more interesting. The mountains are pretty, but the caves make exploring so much more rewarding
QOTD: 1.18 terrain is just BREATHTAKING. I'm getting so much inspiration and ideas for builds, but sometimes it's pretty hard to find a good spot for a build
I love the caves and the cliffs. I think it's the best update ever. I do think, however, there are too many caves. As amazing as they are, and I'm grateful for all the work Mojang have put into the game, it's just all caves now.
@@James88816 But how easy was it before? In 1 hour of playing a Survival playthrough I'd be fully diamond everything and on my way to enchanting everything. I like that it's more difficult to get diamonds. Less caves though.
I really enjoy how deep and explorative you can get in the caves but I really do hate finding veins of one or even 2 diamonds especially after spending so long looking for them
I know its not just as easy as ignore them all but try not focus on the comments accusing you of you cheating, until you having fun, nothing else matters, keep going Jev such a fun serie
Love the series so far Jev, listening to removing enchants from armor is like asmr, qotd really enjoying how amazing everything looks, not being a great builder I rely on a nice place to call home, it really gives me some ideas of what I'd like to do, what I dislike is how scary the caves have become like, those can be real big and so dark its like staring into the void of the over world
QOTD: I really love how the early game has totally changed. Like it can be really hard to find iron unless you spawn near a mountain since iron now generates more frequently at higher levels. But I feel like the new huge caves are high risk high reward. This might be challenging in he early days of a world where you are just starting to get your firs few iron tools and armor.
QOTD: I used to hate caving and played on peaceful all the time, turns out I just got super claustrophobic in the old generation and now I can actually have fun caving! Exploring is also more fun, you still got the loop of flat terrain - flat terrain - flat terrain - oh something cool - flat terrain. But before that "cool" thing was either shattered savannahs or the occasional rare biome like Mushroom Islands or Mesas. Now those cool landscapes are a lot cooler and can appear in any biome! Least fav thing... inventory space. It's getting worse every update. And new years resultions... I wanna work out more and improve my posture. Good luck with your resolution to ^^
Literally started watching this series when there was no third episode and by the time I finished the two here I am. Incredible. I recommend fishing btw for good gear.
I love just about everything in the update except three things. If you are not in the mountains you are going to need to travel to one to get lots of coal. You can't get farm/grow spore blossoms. And best I can tell deserts are non-existent. Hundreds of beaches but of all the worlds I tested I have found two. One was a micro biome and the other was thousands of blocks away from spawn.
QotD: I like the new business LD heights and lows. That feels so much bigger. I dislike the mining speed of deepslate. Regarding finding the bastion, after you showed the pie chart trick to find a possible bastion, wouldn't it have been faster to go about 2 chunks in each direction, and redo that pie-chart trick, to pinpoint the direction? If you move further from that first found spawner, you would need more chunks loaded, be for seeing it at the pie-chart again, and moving closer would need fewer chunks loaded to find it again.
You could probably find a rough compass heading using triangulation and the pie chart. You’d just need to drop the pie chart in different grids or chunks or whatever
QOTD: I dislike how much I need to light up caves now, even with the light level change. There are so many caves and they're not even fun to explore because the generation is so predictable, so lighting them up for mob farms is tedious. I really enjoy the overworld surface terrain changes though. It's a nice breath of fresh air.
Like- no spawns in light - but so much dark Hate- How hard deepslate is to break and that diamonds are SOOOOOO hard to mine. That used to be the fun part on MC - now I explore for them. Xx
I havent played properly since 2014 and to come back into the game im confused asf!! its amazing now so many new things to build and explore its almost becoming an endless opportunity. i used to build survival maps zombies etc and even air born survival domes with limited supplies and im considering getting back into doing those things especially after realising how much has been added, hunger games also used to be a massive thing i got into but i was just a young kid back then and the nostalgia is immense seeing this stuff. its a hard decision to possibly start my own channel on creation within the minecraft worlds. but where does one even start most channels in this game are based of mods etc and i never got into those kinds of things when it comes to sticking to true minecraft nature, sure i messed around with them destroyed ruins and underground cities is what i was especially good at and this new update has finally given me the chance to do so in survival without modding or texture packs. its just scaring because who wants to create a channel based on their builds and fail, its the scariest decision to make on the reality of internet, yet most real life decisions are easy to comprehend and just do. thank you for these great inspiration videos for people who want to be builders and creators now its just taking the next step in life and seeing if i fail like i have many times before but will always keep trying!!
Qot: I downright despise how mountainous plains and deserts frequently are now, like yeah dunes exist but I assure you, dunes as large as the ones present in 1.18 do not exist. I miss flat terrain. However, I'm absolutely in love with literally everything else
QOTD: I absolutely love the lush caves, sadly haven't found one on my world yet. But I dislike the new ore generation y levels I miss y 12 lol . -58 is a long way down.
QOTD: I like how the landscape resembles some of the old 1.7.10 era "realistic world gen" mods, and the world looks more varied. HOWEVER... iron has become frustratingly rare, and copper and lapis clog up my inventory. Diamonds and redstone are only at the bottom of the world, though once you're there they're super easy to find. The distribution badly needs to be rebalanced.
QotD: I love the increased scope of the game. It's a much bigger game now that it used to be and with that increased scope, it feels like we have proper caves and cliffs. The only thing I don't like is that diamonds are more spread out now.
Only thing I didn't like about 1.18 was that they made newly made flat worlds at the new bottom build limit, because building below bedrock is a really cool thing.
QOTD: For me, my favorite thing about the update is the new world generation. While on the other hand I absolutely hate the new caves because of how much time I have to spend lighting them up.
I love the caves, there such good start spots to live, i HATE that it rains sooooooo much and soooooo long at a time. add-on: maybe buy 2 unbreaking books to combine so you still got the lvl 3 unbreaking?
Hey Jev it may be nothing coming from a complete stranger but I am loving this series and you have become the person I watch If I stay up until 1 or 2 am
QOTD: I love the views, mining feels really new and it keeps me hooked. I just hate feeling so tiny in the game, I get scared of the heights lmao. My resolution is to find a better job, I quit my shitty job in November and I still haven’t found a job yet. I also want to survive college :p
QOTD: I love the new terrain and height limit, but I don’t like how hard the caves are to navigate. I feel like there was a missed opportunity for more blocks/lighting options.
Hey man, Sick let’s play!! I was just wondering how you have the coordinates up above your hot bar as I am new to Minecraft Java edition. Thanks, and keep up the good work👍
QOTD: the landscapes are staggering to walk around. i'm not a big fan of the ore distribution for Iron, have to spend much longer with stone tools in my new worlds now. Resolutions - learn to build bigger and keep at it - i typically get bored doing big builds and very rarely finish larger projects

True dude. Idk but I feel like before 1.15 their aim was all over the place but 1.16 onwards they snipe you from 30 chunks away.
@@krishnadasnair8765 same with skeletons because when i was in caves i was getting sniped from 100 chunks away and their speed is
