As to birthdays, anniversaries, & Christmas, my husband encourages me pick whatever I like. Same with him. Erika seems to be very shy & not comfortable in letting you know what she likes. Am so fortunate to have the freedom to shop whenever/ wherever. Mall is 7 minutes away but, I do not splurge. When kids were growing up, this Oma did mostly all the shopping for their clothes & school needs. For their gifts, we shop together. I think Erica is unassuming like me. I like to have "stuff" who doesn't but I don't really dwell on its not to die for. And when you have kids, their needs and wants comes first before a mother. We have age gap too we have problems I can't deny but we're happily married for 33 years. He treats me like a queen and I treat him like a king.
