Dana made it sound like Pereira vs. Hill would be the opening fight of the early prelims, but instead we get a WMMA title fight as the Co-main. The UFC hasn't done a Flyweight main event on a PPV since UFC 256, but that's what they'll have to do for 301. It will undoubtedly be Moreno vs Pantoja 2 since the UFC needs Moreno to be champion when the Sphere card rolls around for Mexican Independence Day.

The UFC hasn't done a Flyweight main event on a PPV since UFC 256, but that's what they'll have to do for 301. It will undoubtedly be Moreno vs Pantoja 2 since the UFC needs Moreno to be champion when the Sphere card rolls around for Mexican Independence Day.

Idk I think everyone is overeacting. Sure the main event should have been better, but on paper this card is still better than UFC 100 and 200 combined and easily the card of the year.

Strong agree. The expectations were set too high. If they had gotten Leon v Islam, it would have delivered imo. That would have been cherry on top. Also I like HW's, and there aren't any HW's on main card 😢 For me, Stipe v Tom would have been epic main event. Agree it is a bit disappointing. But still a stacked card overall imo. Great vid.
