From the Pastor's presentation, he made us know that religion do not start national growth but rather sustains national growth. ( from the point where he said other factors may bring development but if good mentality/character is not promoted, it comes back to zero.Which according to him, religion promotes this good character).
To me, its not true, once other factors have started national development, LAWS are needed to sustain them & not religion. In countries where LAWS are fully at work, sustainability is assured with/without religion.

I don't think the pastor knows his history well. The European who came to Ghana did not have total control on the people. The Akwamu kingdom conquered the Danes several times as Asante Kingdom conquered the English many times. Asante lost to the English because in 1874 there were chieftancy disputes especially the Juaben one and it did cost a lot.
Also the british capitalised on the bad relationship between Asante and Fante and went to Fante side. In all their wars they English solicited help from other Africans like Yoruba, sieraleone etc

The problem is not Christianity bro, it is the mindset. Check other African countries that practice Islam, war and corruption like no other. The Arabians later conquered North Africa and established Islam. Ask any unbiased historian. Christianity is more African than European or American. All the great theologians were black Africans even before Rome and the rest of Europe becameChristianized.

You see when it comes to the slavery issue, we usually put all the blame on the whites forgetting that our ancestors actively participated and profited from it. We the blacks captured our own people and sold them as slaves to the whites in the castles. We match them down from all corners of the country to the castles. The whites never ventured into the hinterlands to capture our ancestors. That is why it's called slave trade. Therefore we should bear part of the blame and be ashamed for what we did to the our own people. And it hasn't ended. Even today a white man has more privileges in Africa than the black man. We still treat each other bad hyst to please white people.
