"You're My Melody"... what an amazing song. I dont think this version was as perfect as the original studio one (lives are seldom better) but still nice to listen to and watch
Uh.. all I was saying is it wasnt perfect, and I didnt mean because of lacking voices, but primarily because its a live version and they didnt have chances for retakes (not really true since its a dvd and it was edited), and even with all their experience, it wasnt vocally perfect (note when light-jacket on right sings "gyoteso" and takes a breath between each syllable in that word). Theres also the fact that they werent singing for half the song, it was higher pitch than id expect their voices to sing comfortably at (from what i heard purely in this video), faster tempo and really upbeat for a more.. sad-ish song? Its a love song, not a 'lets get up and dance' song (thats my opinion of it, at least). Now, i dont want fans to get upset or anything over me saying these things. Being performers and entertainers, as TVXQ are, doesnt require perfection, especially at lives. You wanna give the audience a great show, and thats what they did very well with this song. Bringing in the audience to sing along with and the musicians on mic was perfect, for a classic song like this. One thing i wanna end on is the ending of the song and it really WAS amazing, except perhaps the audience soon being louder than their voices at the end, but thats expected, so not really a qualm. Overall I enjoyed it, but i do prefer listening to the original studio version (from TH-cam, since iTunes doesnt have it, at least on AUS store)
I like BTS these days , but realized that would never ever love them like DBSK and SuJu because I have a lot of memories with these 2 groups way more than any other groups ... my 20s memories , that time when we shared the hopes , dreams , pain and sadness ... a lot of things went by and now becomes only memories but luckily happy ones and wonderful journey..
is it me or the way yunho talked was like an indian? lol still cute tho. I love you're my melody since ages and still, and this version would be so perfect if it sang by five of them.
