The Maha mantra is a spiritual call to the Lord, meaning, “Oh energy of the Lord, please engage me in the loving service of Lord Krishna.”
This chanting of Hare Krishna is directly enacted from the spiritual platform, surpassing all lower stages of consciousness, namely sensual, mental, and intellectual. There is no need to understand the language of the mantra, nor is there any need of mental speculation, nor any intellectual adjustment for chanting this maha-mantra. It springs automatically from the spiritual platform, and as such anyone can take part in this transcendental sound vibration without any previous qualification and dance in ecstasy.
The word Hara is a form of addressing the energy of the Lord. Both Krishna and Rama are forms of directly addressing the Lord, and they mean “the highest pleasure.” Hara is the supreme pleasure potency of the Lord. This potency, addressed as Hare, helps us in reaching the Supreme Lord.
The three words-namely Hare, Krishna, and Rama-are the transcendental seeds of the maha-mantra, and the chanting is the spiritual call for the Lord and His internal energy, Hara, for giving protection to the conditioned souls. The chanting is exactly like genuine crying by the child for his mother. Mother Hara helps in achieving the grace of the supreme father Hari, or Krishna, and the Lord reveals Himself to such sincere devotees.

Hector. I know the term "Avartha Kiirtan" which is a different way to perform kiirtan: it is done in 6 different directions. With each change of direction, the Kiirtan melody changes. The 6 directions are: North, East, South, West, Up and Down. By chanting Kiirtan in the 6 directions, the vibration of Baba Nam Kevalam spreads everywhere. The specific ideas of each direction are:
- I am the embodiment of sincerity.
- I have an innate love for Parama Puruśa.
- I purify my mind in the fire of devotion.
- I surpass all internal and external obstacles.
- Oh Parama Puruśa, take me to your lap
- I give all that is mine to you.

This God has five main qualities: Beauty, Power, Wealth, Renunciation and Knowledge. As children of God, we also possess these same qualities, but in finite quantity. Whereas we all have a relatively small amount of wealth (even if it is just the shirt on our back), God has infinite wealth - He/She owns EVERYTHING. Just as we all have some beauty, God has infinite beauty. This is unimaginable to the feeble minds of we human beings. Because God is unlimited in every way, God has unlimited names and is beyond the dualities of this material sphere. None of God’s holy names is any more “powerful” than any other. God is neither young/old, male/female, large/small, Christian/Muslim, etc. God is, by definition, a person but not limited by our anthropomorphic imaginings.

It is easy, my dear! BA'BA'NA'M KEVALAM is a Siddha mantra given by Shrii Shrii A'nandamu'rti ji. You should not alter its original structure; its spelling and pronunciation are unchangeable. If distorted, the results can not be perfect.
Dear friends, remember, there is no mantra as BA'BA'NA'MO KEVALAMO or BA'BA'NA'MA KEVALAMA. Baba has given BA'BA'NA'M KEVALAM mantra for kiirtan. Then you the A'ca'ra'yas and Avadhu'tas are singing with the wrong pronunciation! It isn't perfect. And, out of innocence, the margiis are following you.
MISGUIDING THE WHOLE SOCIETY IS A SIN. PLEASE DON'T SING THE MANTRA WITH THE WRONG PRONUNCIATION. Confused? Once you are singing BA'BA'NA'MO KEVALAMO again immediately after a while you are singing BA'BA'NA'M KEVALAM and vice versa. Are you trying to promote the defective pronunciation style of the Siddha Mantra, BA'BA'NA'M KEVALAM?
