Holy Moley, Mercedes engineering at its finest! This guy was great. I think I would dremel off enough interior lip to remove it though. I have a battery draw and the EIS is causing it as it does not recognize that the key is off for disconnecting the accessories, so we turn of the radio and it last a bit longer, carrying a Viking jump box from Harbor Freight and it will jump it quickly, but embarrassing bull crap. I am also going to pull the Radio out first to see if I can work from their as well.
Hey. So my car runs fine, and my key locks/unlocks the car via the remote just fine - BUT i get a 'key not detected' type of error when i use the push to start. It also doesn't unlock/lock by touching the door handles anymore. So i use the remote to unlock the car and take the push button out and slot the key into the ignition to use the car. I've tried multiple different brands of new batteries and nothing has worked. Checked the fuse and it looks fine. Do you think it's the EIS malfunctioning?
It may very well be the EIS but you're going to need to go and get your car diagnosed by professional shop that works on German vehicles and Mercedes specifically or otherwise you'll be just guessing and not being able to find out the real problem if you try to do it on your own! Sorry but I'm just trying to give you an honest opinion. Thanks and Good Luck! ,🤞💪👍
In my case it did fix the problem but this may not be your case. You need a proper diagnostic with a professional scanner to check all possible error codes and then try to gain some guidance what needs to be repaired... Thanks and Good Luck! 🤞💪👍
My W212 is not shutting off when turning the ignition to position 1 as it used to do. But when taking the key out, engine shuts off. The problem is intermittent. Few times ignition did not turn on the dash at all in position 1 and 2, then i had to get the key out and in few times to get it to work. I did check the relays. Could this be due to faulty EIS? Thanks
@@projectathos Thanks. Your videos are very much in detail & these minor details, challenges you face are a great help to prepare for the job. I’ll try to remove the EIS & see if the solderings are broken like shown in your other videos.

Just fyi I got it scanned by a merc dealership and it’s a fault in the keyless go control module. But clearing the error seems to have fixed the issue
Did this replacement fix the problem you mentioned? I have the same issue

@@projectathos How did you get the plugs reconnected?

Most likely is your EIS. Thanks 💪👍
