I am a weaver and considering an Etsy shop to sell one of a kind handwoven pieces. These are time-consuming and expensive to produce. If I don't get the item back, or it is damaged or worn by the buyer who then wants a refund, I'm out all my time and money. While I understand offering refunds for some products, I am hesitant to offer them for this kind of work. I usually can't make more of the same item - once that warp is off the loom, I would need to find enough of the same yarn in the right colors and set everything up again. This can take a couple of days worth of work, depending on the complexity. The idea of shipping off a piece worth $180 or more, only to have someone change their mind worries me, but so does having people rating my shop low because I don't offer returns. I'm not mass producing goods - it's all handmade by me.

As a non us citizen I was always perplexed how US stores were handling returns. They were the reason why customers are rotten spoiled.

my shop doest accpet return or exchange on a custom order costume, but if im willing to do it who's gonna paying for the return shipping from buyer?
In my shop the buyer pays for return shipping, unless we made an error.

That's a very good point. In some places you are required to have Returns and Cancelations. Can you tell me what your laws say about custom items?
