    I did a dual 240mm radiator open loop in my Ncase M1, but I'm using a 9700K + 2080 Ti and a reservoir that mounts to the back of the case.
    I wasn't as ambitious with the thickness of the side radiator. If anything, I would have used another ultra thin XSPC rad on the side if I could have found another one in stock at the time just to give the fans a little more room to breathe. The reservoir doesn't help as much with filling the loop as you might think as I still had to open up another part of the loop and fill it from there as well. Even with a reservoir the most challenging part of it all was getting enough water into the loop. My only regret is going to be NOT using that long-lasting Koolance fluid. I've heard of people using that stuff for over a year without issues whereas I'll have to drain and refill about every 6 months.

    I usually like you content even when I disagree. This build is an amazing execution.
    Unfortunately there are few few things that made me write this comment:
    1. There is no combined load data. For example real gaming.
    2. Calling it the ultimate is a bit incorrect. Over 50C on heaven at 20C ambient with 1500RPM is hot and here is why: my 1080Ti (easily pulls 270w) will never cross 45C even at 30C ambient with 1350RPM. The trick is using single 280x45 alphacool rad with a pair of nf-a14 industrial fans. You can put it in SM580 along with anything you want and will happily cool 550w output of CPU + GPU + VRM at bellow 1500RPM (my CPU tops at 200 and GPU reaches 330 under prime95 + furmark). With a bit of tweaking to the case, it is possible to have a res-pump combo at under 16L.
    You should really try it. Single, a bit fat, 280 rad does better than 2x240 rads both thermally and acoustically.

    • @memocantopal8391
      @memocantopal8391 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm planning on watercooling my build. I have a ryzen 7 2700x and rx 5700xt. Do you think a single 280mm rad 45mm thickness will be enough?

    • @DmitriWeissman
      @DmitriWeissman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@memocantopal8391 sure it can be done. even under unrealistic synthetic stress on both, you are looking at 500w combined. Given ambient below 30C(preferably 25C or below), decent fans and most important case with enough intake openings, it will be both cool and quiet. In my build, when gaming fans are spinning at 950-1250RPM depending on the game and room temp while keeping CPU at below 60C and GPU under 45C. Important thing is to keep an eye on VRM. On my previous mini-ITX z97 with 4790K it was overheating after 60mins of stress test with ~160w draw because of anemic heatsink. Though it was totaly fine under real world usage. But given my OCD, i made a custom water block for the VRM.

    Nice build and also nice videos. Really like your content! While I am also trying to get maximum performance with my LianLi TU150 build with 3950x and 2080 cooled by 2x120rad and 1x240rad I think its better to have more information to rank the cooling performance. As tested all my configurations, I created a task with Heaven and Prime to put overall round about 350W total (CPU/GPU) to the build and then I played with fan rpm´s. The result I clarify by checking Watertemp and also GPU and CPU temp.
    Would recommend this for the future and your content.
    In my build I can put away 350W with 1300 rpms on fans in a result of 38°C water.

    I was "ready" to do something like this for my 8700k+2070S, but when I saw the single Alphacool 240 ST30 doing it's job, I stopped there.
    FYI: ST30 V2 (since 2020??) has a screw at the top, allowing to hold it vertically and use that as filler hole without a res. Was super excited about that.
    PS: 8700k is really annoying: I get a 40C jump (no de-lidding done) when I run prime95. And with my Asrock MB, it wants to change the pump+fan speeds when it gets to ~90 (it forces a slope to around 70%@90C..don't remember exactly), leading to a constant 2s stop+5s run of the pump when it's important to keep running (don't know if MB drops voltage on change or pump stops on change, which is a non-PWM model). I had to use a power cable with a 7V out, ruining my no-SATA/MOLEX idea (2xM.2 here, no 2.5"/3.5").

For my build personally I found having bottom as intake & side as exhaust to be more favorable. Have a slim top hat coming hopefully today so I may change fan config and do some testing. Great performance. Somewhat wish that the Ncase M1 exterior was as good looking as the Fractal Era ITX case imo.

    Swap the cpu to the 3950x and you got my perfect system for current times.

    You haven't included the slimline radiator in the video description bud. Awesome build though, I've got an NCase M1 on the way. I'm using the Streacom DA2 with a blower style 2080ti, but it's too loud while rendering. Gonna follow your spec on my next build. Maybe turn the streacom in to a VR box or something.

    This is just superb. Any views on switching out the EK Coolstream PE and using XSPC TX240 ultrathins as both bottom and side-mounted radiator? All else equal, what effect would this have on thermal performance vs noise, spinning the Noctuas in the 1000-1500 rpm range?

    I’m guessing just having more liquid in the system helps I’m wondering what a 240 slim reservoir in place of the second radiator/fan set would do? I’m no scientist, but more water fixes a lot of problems on its own. Less sound and less moving parts would be a benefit, also.

    Do the bosses on the pump rotate? Do you think you could have skipped the T fitting for filling? Maybe you could use a section of tubing with quick disconnects and a syringe instead. I'm really considering this setup since ditching my last 3.5 drive for an SSD.

    I think two 240 radiators are needed when the new RTX 3080Ti arrives. That GPU has a 350w TDP, which is insane. One rad just can't rule them all.

    I noticed you have the Razer Viper Mini connected to the build in this video. Have you switched to it as your main from the g305. Just curious if you like it and if the lift off distance isn't bothering you?

    When space convenience meets space inconvenience. Each to their own, but I would rather keep desktop footprint and extend height before I'd cram in a second radiator that blocks your entire system, the quick disconnect fittings are still inconvenient in my opinion.

    My build: da2 itx
    30w d5 pump with
    X299 ASRock
    50mmx240 radiator with one normal fan and one 60w server fan.
    1660ti
    Still waiting for my 10980xe I ordered last year.

    Fantastic build. Best SFF build I've ever seen.
    I love the side radiator. I probably wouldn't water cool the GPU.
    This thing would run a lot cooler with a Ryzen CPU. Even the 3950X draws less power than the Intel you used.

    I want to start a business building cases, and I've created a prototype that can house a custom loop with up to 2x 280mm rads, it's still really early and due to just me producing them the price would be high and production would be incredibly limited, my proto is out of pine but my final is going to be from wallnut

    If u sell pre built pc with this configurations, many of us (who don't know all the technical aspects) will buy it happily 😍 especially for the low fan decibels and low temperatures 👌✌️

    Hey could make an updated air cooling guide for the M1v6/6.1? I really want to do a build in this case but I’m unsure of the fan layout. I’m planning on a 3700x/2070s with a c14s and and I’d like to put as many fans as I can in the system. Thanks for putting out such quality vids!
