Love the button flower idea, so pretty. My mom collected buttons for years and when she passed away my daughter took a bunch of her buttons and made me the most beautiful necklace from some of them…there are many things you can do with buttons.

Button flowers, absolutely adorable. You could use satin ribbon to wrap the stems as well.

It’s funny because my mom gave me a roll of silk ribbon today and as soon as I finished filming I looked down and saw the ribbon. I added some bows and I thought about gluing some on but that’s a project for another day!

I've been crafting for about 52 yrs and have never seen button hooks or button flowers in the wild. I'm so excited because I bought a jar of buttons, all white for a buck! I can see these would be pretty sewn on a jean purse as well. Still awaiting our snow day... LOL ☃

    • @TarnishedTreasures1

The contrast of the buttons on the jean would be very nice. Come on snow!! 🤞🏻

Great way to use up those buttons that otherwise might never get used for anything and let's face it, some are too beautiful to languish forever unseen. I can see this idea being tweaked to make brooches and pendants too.

Even the thin wire makes them a bit flimsy.I’ve made button rings to hang from door knobs with heavy string. They basically look like a bracelet made out of buttons.

I'm SO happy I found this video!! I have also started making button flowers recently. I have been using the same wire plus some other floral wire I picked up along the way. I have been twisting the wire along the whole length which makes it a bit more labor intensive and hard on the hands. So seeing that you only twist them for a short distance then twist them all together is a big help. I also have been collecting beads (making jewelry also) and have many old crystals. I hadn't thought of using them with the button flowers but I will now! My large button collection is something I inherited from my family so I have many old buttons that are interesting but not colorful so I like the fact that you have used those types. Thank you also for showing what you did with some of them. The button hook idea is nice. It made me wonder that if you have a big enough vase whether you could use some flatware that have fancy designs. It's often not hard to find that type of thing. I used to love making small bouquets of flowers for my house but had to stop when I got a kitty that eats them. Button flowers are a perfect alternative plus so fun to make! Enjoy! Peace. Sue

Beautiful! I made some with music paper flower shapes and one button as a centre, on stiffer wire, and put them in the holes of a sugar sifter but need to give this a try. I like making wire trees and my spring one could be with MoP buttons as blossoms. I adore your purple dried hydrangeas; what colour are they when fresh? Mine are pale pink, blue and lilac and dry either off white, pale green and my favourites go pinky- red on light green.
