Looking at the paint worn off the blade you're only using half the blade length, but it must be more comfortable using it as you can stand back and see better how it's cutting, right?
Could you tell me what the weight of it is? Makita Official tells: 4,1 kg what i don't believe. I've heard its about 7kg?? Would help alot, because in Holland i cant find a store that has this 75cm model; just the 501z, 601Z
well I use it mostly on high. but if you want to take your time then no problem to go slower. Another thing is what do you trim, how hard and thick hedges or plants

It is painted like that from new. That's there design. You can use all length no problem
