    Hi. This looks like so much fun. I was playing with the marble track. But I was having trouble getting the ball to stay on the track and if it stays on track it would stop and not continue to the next segment.

    My STEM Teacher Mind is going. I'm going to create a design challenge with the following questions if targets are different heights, shapes or thicknesses will the target loop all the way around etc! Also, have them put points to the targets and place the points on the targets!

    I haven't used this as yet and in fact, only due to a need to test some physics, I only discovered Sim Lab today.
    But I'm not sure if it will do what I want.
    I've made a water level assembly, which is a horizontal piece with a 3/4 gear on one end and a pin on the other end. Hanging vertically, from the pin is another piece with a foam float on the other end.
    The idea here is that as water moves up or down, the foam float will lift or lower the main horizontal piece., which has a gear on the opposite side. In real life, the gear has a hole in it where it has a bearing I screw that into the water tank wall and where the gear is, I have a potentiometer with a gear on that. It is also screwed into the water tank.
    As the horizontal piece moves up or down, it turns the potentiometer. I capture the reading with Arduino. Works a charm.
    But here's the problem. Without some kind of wire to keep the vertical piece straight up and down. Of course, without it, as the water moves, the vertical piece can move in or out and not really lift/lower the horizontal piece, with the gear.
    So I want to test how this will work by having the 2 pieces there, then a "wire' that goes from just below the main gear, the wire screwed into the wall too and the other end of the wire clips into the vertical piece.
    With Sim Lab, I'm hoping that I can make this animate so I can see how the vertical piece behaves with the wire guide part.
    But I have no idea how to implement this in Sim lab.
    Any ideas how to make this happen?
    Thanks in advance for any ideas.

      Tinkercad sim lab is not built for that at the moment. The physics is not very precise... That said... some of the coolest stuff I have ever seen started with someone saying... not possible. You will want to use these new parts though. th-cam.com/video/ij7KKk68yac/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RedyjsIRECvsDMlV

      I'll go through them. This Sim Lab thing looks fun, if nothing else.
      What I need to do, I THINK can be done in Fusion 360. My only issue there is that I don't use it daily and I've never learned any of the physics stuff.
      Something more to learn I guess. LOL

    I am trying to model a working clock. I have made the gears and put them on a static axel. But as soon as I hit simulate the gears go flying through the axel. All gears and all axels have clearance (none are touching or overlapping), but they are close so that they don't lean and misalign. The simulation seems to figure out gravity a little bit before it figures out what is solid and in that time they drift into each other. Is there a way to fix this?

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      At the moment Tinkercad cannot handle such an idea. The idea of an axle and gears does not work with the current geometry and collisions. =( I am sorry, but we are both waiting for that feature.

    I've done several tests and Sim Lab is unbelievably glitchy and the physics model is poor. It maybe fun as a toy, but it's no use as a kinematics simulator and not a way to test mechanisms. I'm done with it and it's not even a day old.

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am having a blast, but I am also just enjoying seeing things move. 🤣 I think in a classroom this would have sparked a ton of exploration. I think your mention of fun is the important part. Tinkercad should be fun. It is not intended to be used as a kinematics sim etc...

    • @guillermomelantoni2390
      @guillermomelantoni2390 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you elaborate on the glitches? Just to make sure expectations are clear, this is no full simulation like you would do on Fusion or Ansys. This is for kids to get started. If you have specific feedback to discuss, we are listening.
