Hi Alice! ✨♥️✨ Here’s a little tip so you don’t run out of hours on your 70… Only drive 9 hours a day, not ten, not 11. As long as you can make your destinations you’ll be fine, you’ll start to twist the drive daytime into nighttime slowly but you’ll be able to drive for up to 5 weeks without having to worry about running out of drive time hours. That’s how I do it all the time. I haven’t run out of hours in years. I used to run hard everyday and then get stuck in tin-buck-two doing a 34. I learned to conserve my hours. It’s like leaving a few extra bucks in your pocket, so you’re never running out of cash, same logic… Trust me, it works Drive safe Sister! Btw… I like the psycho part in the beginning. She dead heads to many miles...don't you see all the empty miles she's putting on, her dispatcher is killing her...her pay sheet has got to be shit...
Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m saying, The dispatch will run the heck out of you… I did that for 20 years. I finally got smart and stopped letting dispatch run my life. I’m been driving for 34 years. Whether she makes a lot or a little bit of money is none of my business. It’s the hours I’m talking about
the last week I was out I ran 9ish hours a day and was fine for recap. I was originally planning to be back before that 8th day so didn’t plan accordingly
I’ve did DOT inspections for 22 yrs with the Sheriffs dept. All stops were on a 2 lane road as that’s all we had. I’d try to be very careful where I’d stop, and was always very courteous to every driver. My Dad was a driver and I rode with him and met a few adam henry cops who treated him like poo. Never wrote a bad inspection, never ever wrote for tinted windows and carefully explained every violation. Now mind you, I inspected mainly logging trucks and dump truck. Occasionally would catch an OTR rig and dealt with many none English speaking drivers running the back roads to avoid the scales on I-5. Remember, not all Cops are bad and nearly all the drivers were courteous.
@@mellsterr6192 thanks for sharing this. If only all the DOT had your perspective and all the drivers were courteous. I have definitely encountered both ends of the spectrum from drivers and DOT. Coming up I had the mindset that we were all out here trying to make the roads safer. Thank you for your service.
Or the out-of-adjustment brakes is another good one, can't leave until they are legal, sure you can adjust them, no we don't need to reinspect them...here's your ticket (and now your CSA points). 🤬
Alice, great job on the editing of this video. Please add more bloopers at the end even when Martin is on for the week. But I'm sure Martin says he doesn't do any mistakes that are blooper worthy. LOL Definitely had a good chuckle at the end, thank you very much for what you both do for all of us entertaining us as well as delivering what we all use and need.
Hi enjoy the channel 😊 is there more channel footage on the engine change on the black truck and about the type of engine going in it enjoy that side of the knowledge it's inspiring to see hear thank you 😊
Steele, ND is one on my favorite fuel stops..hope to run into you there some time. I ask the DOT inspectors show me stuff like those mysterious chafing lines.. Be safe out there,
I got a level 1 in September during the “ blitz”. Dotsero Colorado just before Glenwood Canyon. Every cop in the state was there. I got lectured about my gps being on the bottom of the windshield. And the dash cam, being within the sweep of the wiper blades on the passenger side. Thats the whole point, to keep the camera clear of obstruction. No citation for that, but lectured.🤨🤨 Got written up for not having an ELD cradle. First time DOT has ever checked my window tint. Was legal @78%. Friggen ball breakers !!
I got the same lecture from an Idaho DOT officer about the GPS - I told him it wasn't going up to the top of the windshield for safety reasons (gravity) and that the power cord wasn't long enough to go around the windshield.....
So you forgot to turn the reefer on after fueling, then you get to the shipper…. Turn on reefer wait inline for over an hour to check in, reefer is at correct temp when checking in. Sounds like experienced truck driver saving reefer fuel and not pre cooling sailboat fuel. 😂😂
Get the highest UV rejection you can get, I still feel heat on my trucker arm. It knocked out a lot of heat but not all of it, but I didn’t get the highest heat rejection.
@TruckingTogether get one of those pull down window shades as well, I have very light tint and the pull down shade, I think it confuses those dopes because they can see the pull down shade. I think I passed you in Wyoming on Friday??

Just an observation. I think I might have seen where the cop saw where there might be 'rubbing' lines. At 11:29 it looks like the hose might be rubbing on the loom. Because of the angle, it isn't completely clear, but he said something about the line 'rubbing on the plastic thing' (or something very close to that), but even then, it is only one line, not two, unless the one just 'below' the big one is rubbing too. I know I was once pulled in for an inspection at a very small weigh station on a small road, and the guy went over everything with a fine tooth comb. The only thing he could find was the hoses between my trailers were sitting on the dolly. But the way they were sitting, the didn't/couldn't even move. He didn't say they were damaged, only that they were sitting on metal. Oh, yes, he had a trainee working with him. I am sure he had just told him that 'you can find something wrong on every truck', and had to come up with something. Great video Alice, I always really enjoy them.
In state of Wisconsin your allowed to have a tint % of 35% to be semi truck legal but according to us dot they want it to be 70% which pretty much non tinted in state of arizona and utah the legal tint is 27% so it varies from state to state
I’m aware of the tint laws and was before I got them tinted. As a woman alone out here I rather take the violations vs having clear windows for all to see me
These road pirates stopping any vehicle on the side of the road is dangerous. My niece drives a semi she said she has to completely tune out the sound of a cops voice. I picture family Halloween fun in making after that shower scene . Have a most wonderful day
Great intro there. I remember back in the 10 and 8 days if you were stuck on the road and could not move, accident or roadway out, and now out of hours , you were allowed to drive to a place where you could park. This was legal to have extra drive time. Just had to not it in your paper log. Does the ELD system recognize this?
That’s Kansas DOT for you got stopped there because they said my license plate light on my trailer was out they wouldn’t let me get out of the truck said it wasn’t safe for me to get out of the truck so I mediately went to the nearest shop. They couldn’t find anything wrong. Tried to get the violation removed could never get a hold of anyone to straighten it out. Good luck.
that’s the ridiculous part of it all. I know so many who went to a shop immediately afterwards got proof nothing wrong and couldn’t even fight it because basically the system is what the cop says and not a damn thing you can do about it… Shame because there goes 19 years of zero CSA points on my record. I’ll take the tint ones but the airlines that’s total bs 👎🏻
Not long ago, a Michigan DOT got smoked doing a Roadside Inspection. Safety first... Remember when they were pushing ELDs, they said DOT will have nothing to do.... Clearly they still need the revenue from something.
I do find it fascinating that after all that there was no fine. Guess he had to write something. My dad told me they are always looking for something bright red and clean.
Welcome to my Home State of Kansas. The land of oz (as in ahz crap nothing to see for miles and miles). I worked at Swans/Tony Pizza 50 yrs ago there in Salina. And yes they are haters about window tint ask me how I know!
various truck stops sell them or you can get them from the manufacturer directly www.briefinsanity.com/products/i-just-dropped-a-load-truck-pajama-pants?srsltid=AfmBOopIq6aFw20OM91yQijzzlRfdlbbp-DvfiZ2_dNjsajf8-s7oQTn
Get a doctor's note saying you need the tint to prevent skin cancer..... people do it......just a suggestion 🤷🏻♂️.....that is, I guess, if you are prone to skin cancer....sorry, late edit.....but you probably knew what I was talking about 👍🏻
Some police do monitor CB channels. lt would've been nice of that officer to point out the chafing, but usually they advise one to stay inside the vehicle.
I did. He siad he left his phone in the car. I decided given the busy highway I didnt want to go under the trailer along with good luck getting him to remove it once already in the system.. So I let it go

Some police do monitor CB channels. lt would've been nice of that officer to point out the chafing, but usually they advise one to stay inside the vehicle.
