Yeah but that shouldn't have kept burning unless he had a fuel leak somewhere. That's the only thing I can think of that would keep the fire going after an extinguisher and 2 bottles of water, fuel was leaking against the hot exhaust and re-igniting itself. Most of the fuel lines under the car are metal, there might have been a part of it up by the engine that was rubber that wore out, or even chewed through by a small animal. Really good to have solid splash and skid shields with a little custom under-body work on off-road vehicles to keep water and critters out, even if you're not planning on putting a snorkel on it, it should be damn near air tight.

Thank my friend. Bummer to lose the Jeep and gear for sure. But I learned a couple of solid lessons and it’s all part of it. I always say if you spend enough time out there, you are going to have a few things go wrong. It’s just the way it is. Sometimes I think we forget that with our modern reliable gear and technology. It all helps and for sure we have a lot less problems out there these days than we did 30 years ago. But still, stuff can happen out there. Cheers my friend!

My chin hit my keyboard...I sincerely admire your positive attitude, calm head and consideration to not cause a fire disaster. Holy crap and so sorry, man. I admit that I learned a LOT from your experience.

This is the first video I have seen of yours. Sorry about your Jeep. Get yourself a Ford my friend. Just subbed. Great content. Looking forward to watching more. Thanks! ( As a side note I really thought you were going to pull a beer out of that cooler when you were getting pissed).

Glad you are ok, Casey. Hell of an adventure! I live in the midwest, so the idea of "remote" is non-existent here. No matter where you are, you're at most a mile or two from a farm house, and cell coverage is pretty much universal. I didn't even understand "remote" until I visited Idaho a few years back and spent a day driving through the national forests.

Thank you. Yeah it’s interesting how when you’ve never been to a place like the west it’s hard to even understand how remote it is here. I routinely go on 2-3 day trips where I never see another person, vehicle, or house the entire time. Cheers my friend!
