  • The MOST requested Seventeen song in our comments was Fallin' Flower, so here it is! We loved this song and the video was incredible. We also did the dance practice! A lot of Carats told us to do it that way, so our future Seventeen videos will also have the dance practices in them as well! Let us know which Seventeen song we should react to next.

I definitely suggest 24H. The choreography is a masterpiece. It's a Japanese track too
Not all members are Korean. Two members are korean-american, Joshua and Vernon. And two members are chinese, Jun and The8.

Thank you for reacting ! Just in case you didn't know there are 13 members, three subunits (Performance, Hiphop, Vocal). In Hiphop unit (4 members) only one of them is not fully Korean, that's Vernon (grey sweats, white shirt and black beanie in practice video) he is half-American half Korean and was born in NY but raised in Korea. In Vocal Unit (5 members) they're all full Korean. Although one member, Joshua (blue collared shirt and white pants in practice vid) has an American background, he was raised in LA. He and Vernon are the only two with American backgrounds. In Performance unit (4 members) two of the members are full Korean but the other two, Jun (full white outfit) and The8 (black pants, grey shirt and brownish sweater over it) are both fully Chinese. Quite an international group :)

The short one (Woozi) you pointed out is 5'4" which is admittedly short but not super short by east Asian standards for guys. However, 10 members of Seventeen are 5'8" and taller with three of them reaching 6 feet, so Woozi looks even shorter than he actually is in comparison. They're one of the groups with the biggest discrepancy between the shortest and tallest member (Mingyu is 6'2").
Seventeen has 2 Chinese members, 1 Korean-American and 1 American-Korean. The 2 Chinese members Jun (Wen Junhui) and The8 (Xu Minghao) both came to Korea as trainees, speaking hardly any Korean at all and had thus understandably quite a hard time in the beginning, but they're both fluent now and fully integrated into the group. They occasionally do promotions in China both as members of Seventeen (a couple of their title tracks have Chinese versions) and as solo artists. In fact, Jun released a fully fledged album today! It's on spotify and an MV was released on Seventeen's official channel, go check it out if you'd like :)
Joshua (Joshua Hong) is your standard Korean-American. US citizenship, born and raised in LA with English as his first language (you can really hear the Californian when he speaks lol), moved to Korea after graduating high school to become a trainee, his family still lives in LA. He did speak Korean already when he moved but apparently he's not the strongest reader. And he's the type that starts getting problems with his second language when he's drunk. XD The other day the group released a video where they went on a kind of field trip on their own just for fun and copious amounts of alcohol were had, they were doing a drinking game that required them to count and Josh didn't get the rules until Vernon counted for him in English.
Vernon (Hansol Vernon Chwe) has a white American mother and a Korean (as in a Korean citizen, not a Korean-American) father. He was born in New York but the family moved to Korea when he was 5. He has dual citizenship (and like any other male Korean citizen will have to do military service), is fully bilingual and considers himself more Korean than American. Over the years he's talked at length about his feelings of being perceived as a foreigner in a country he considers his home.

Woozi is considered very short in Korea, and a lot of other east Asian standards for guys tho. But I think that just became one of his features that fans love

    • @luthienmpl
      @luthienmpl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@sel8620 I based this on my own experiences (year abroad studying in Japan) and by googling the average height for male South Koreans which was 170cm (5'7"). I googled it again just now and Wikipedia says it's actually 175cm (5'8.5"), so I might have been misguided with that.

I know this comment is gonna be weird but in your free time, you guys don't have to film it, but can you guys watch Elliot new village breakdown analysis of fallin flower it makes you realize just how intricate and detailed the choreo is

Also I suggest watching 24h, Fear and Thanks. 'Thanks' is an older release (2018) but a personal favorite of mine, it's a song devoted to the fans and the choreography is just stunning honestly. The dance practice vids for these songs are amazing too :))

Glad you like Fallin' Flower :) This is one of the faves of Carats because of the aesthetic and surreal MV and the intricate and delicate choreography.
I think for your next reaction, it would be good to see their funky and bop side. Please check either AJU (VERY) NICE or MANSAE from their earlier years.

    Vernon is a Korean-American.
Joshua is Korean but an American citizen.
    The8 and Jun are Chinese.
The rest of the members are Koreans.

Omg yes!! Finally!!!!!!!! I was starting to worry hahah I think that you should check out 24h or thanks and if you want something very different fear. Ah the short guy is Woozi he is the main producer and composer of the songs of svt.

  • @chasdore

Seventeen is actually more famous for their pop/boysbandish songs with positive vibes like Adore U (debut song), Mansae, Pretty U, Aju Nice, Oh My!, Snapshoot, My My. A personal favorite is Holiday, it only has a music video of them having fun but it's a nice feel good song.
Fans favorite would probably be Thanks, Home, Fear. All three songs have fairly different vibes. Home is still I think their song with the most wins.
Songs with some swag would be Change Up (seventeen leaders song), Clap, Boom boom, Highlight (performance unit song but they have a 13 members version dance practice), Check In (hip hop unit song). Darker concepts: Good to me (dance practice only), Getting closer, Hit (in the vein of club music so wouldn't recommend if it's not your thing), 24H (Japanese release). Ballads: pinwheel (vocal unit song), Without you.

7:36 yes that's woozi and he is the shortest but he makes it up in his big movements i dont even notice it sometimes. Fallin Flower isnt my favorite but it's one of my favorites of their japanese tracks!
Great video! Please react to Hit and the dance practice!! That one and homerun they said are their hardest choreos :3

Their other Japanese release that they have(24h) also has a very cool concept and video.
Also, to answer some questions. Of the 13 members 2 are Chinese(Jun and The8) and 2 are Korean American(Vernon and Josh). Woozi(5'5), who you mentioned is significantly shorter than all the other members(5'8-6'2) and is currently the shortest male kpop artist in the industry.

It seemed to me that you were not much impressed by this song and this is why at first listen I wasn't too. After two or three times, though, it was true love! And the choreo too, it may seem easier then other Seventeen's choreos but, watching It more than one time, you discover so many meaningful details, such as that last simple gesture with one hand, when they are finally able to catch the falling flower. Give this song some other listening please, you'll not be disappointed. Love from an Italian Carat mom ❤️🇮🇹🥕🙋

Thank you so much for reacting to Fallin' Flower!
I recommend watching 24H next (it's their latest Japanese single and it's just a bob + the choreography is heavily based on the Clock concept like how FF w/ the flowers concept. It's really creative it blows my mind every time I watch it!)
If you wanna learn about the members I recommend reacting to SEVENTEEN Guide: The Movie
    th-cam.com/video/DvbYUlWmHh4/w-d-xo.html
(even though its pretty long it is really well-put together and the most recent + accurate one out there, it is pretty entertaining as well as educational + you can watch it in parts!)
Another way to know about the members, and Seventeen's Vibe as a whole is by watching Going Seventeen: their variety show on TH-cam.
(you don't need to know the members at all to watch it, a lot of families gather to watch it together because its hilarious + it gained a lot of recognition from the public because of this + the production is really high a lot of the staff have had worked in so many known korean TV shows and are getting offers but they refuse the offers to continue working with Seventeen)
I recommend watching this episode: th-cam.com/video/zKa-EGTpkRI/w-d-xo.html

seventeen has 13 members and two of them are chinese (jun and minghao) the rest are korean, one of the members (vernon) is korean american and there's also a member who lived in LA called joshua. The rest are korean members. The one you pointed out while watching the dance practice vid, the shortest member, is woozi. He is known as seventeen's genius producer because he wrote and produced many of their songs. Seventeen is one of the top rising and well known self producing group in kpop. All the members contribute to song writing, making choreography etc. They have three sub units (vocal, hip hop and dance). Idk if some of these are already infos you know but I hope it helps somewhat sjsjs 💖

Also, the significantly shorter member is Woozi, the brain behind every single Seventeen's song! And, as you can see, an amazing dancer.
