Fun fact there was construction (1-2 years ago + the recently finished bridge wall down the road by the park) there aka the blocked off walkable beach. It was falling apart so they threw on those big rocks which a year later started to come apart again and waves were making it onto the road so they did it again. That’s why there’s globules

I'm honestly loving these reviews of low reviewed places. I live in my van in SB and just started venturing out along the coast. One man's 1 star review is another man's 3 star review who doesn't mind a sh!t hole.
I had a lovely night there back in 84. As we were going to sleep, a cool band started serenading us. 😎 I wanted to get up and go see who 🤔 but my husband didn't feel like breaking down our camp gear to investigate. Some of our neighbors did, but we laid there, lulled to sleep by Julian Lennon. Thanks, Julian, for making our night special and memorable. ❤
Carpool comedy duo! Awesome video. I love going on "adventures" with my wife. It's always better when you have someone fun to enjoy it with. Thanks guys!
Sycamore campground across the street is much quieter and has lots of shade trees and trails. Just watch out for the gangs of deer at night. Also there is a walkway under PCH to access the beach from Sycamore.
Yay I saw this 46 minutes after you posted it! No more zero stars tardiness for me! Great banter with pretty Kelly…you two are great together! We animal lovers reserve the right to use our Schmoopy voice with pups or kitty toonces with the nomad cats! 😂🐾❤️ Palmolive, tar, highway noises, rockin’ interviews with those damn rocks…5 stars! 👏🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
These are so much fun. Thank you again for sharing. Burgers looked great, fire looked mosquito repelly and the tar looked livable. I was duly impressed by the porta potties. Those things are generally just horrible in every campground I've stayed at. Looking forward to the next video.
Okay I live up the road right on Point Mugu and the mosquitoes do get terrible in late August and stay until mid fall. You just caught it on a good day.
Awesome video I love in Oxnard close to port hueneme. I work in malibu always wonder who stays there always wanted to go. Probably won’t go lol but looks so fun. Keep up the awesome work man just found you today saw a few other videos Leo Carrillo. I’ve always gone to the beach but never stayed I always hike there and dude the mosquitos up the mountains are bad. But near the beach no.
I can imagine you asking Kelly “Hey want to go to a campground overrun with mosquitos, a rocky beach and nasty toilets?” And she’s all in. But it turns out great! Another campground added to my list 👍🏻
As always, a great video. Engine braking isn't just downshifting. Diesel engines will have an "engine brake" on it, a common commercial version is a "jake brake". These brakes work by changing how the exhaust valves work turning the engine into a air compressor, slowing the engine. Also, the absolute best thing you can get for mosquitoes is simply not available in california.
Reviewing 1 star campground posts, what a great idea for a channel. 1 star reviews are so powerful and a life changing experience when making such an important decision, be it good or bad 😂 I dont know how I stumbled onto this channel but I'm glad I did. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time and I can really use it right now. I wish you luck with your channel.
Crazy. People really complain about noise while the camp sight is literally next to the road. People are outdoors and find something to complain about. It’s always packed there. Semi trucks aren’t allowed to pass through there. There’s literally cph waiting for semi trucks to fine them.
Cat on leash…1 ⭐️ We were supposed to stay here but truck and trailer were too long to turn around so they kindly let us stay at Big Sycamore down the road and I’m happy we did. Thornhill Broome typically gets very windy and Sycamore had all the nice shade, trails, mountain biking, etc.
This is my favorite spot in Malibu/Ventura to camp at. You have beaches in both directions with no rocks to go to. You can camp on beach and have fire… best
Great video! I pass by this spot every other week during my drive between Santa Maria and Santa Monica. I’ve always been curious about it. Side note, turpentine works well getting the oil off your feet.
Notice to all future campers, at all costs refuse spot #26…why? Because it’s right next to the 6 “porta potty’s” if your unlucky enough to stay there just pray that the winds are never easterly, ooo that smell. Thanks for that drone footage, and exposing spot #26, great camera work I tell ya & very informative video, you guys are the best!
I have always wondered about this campground. I want to believe those port-o-potties are clean, but I know by the time I show up, it will be dry-heave city. I have a little toilet and a pop-up privacy tent, but I feel dorky using them while someone is sleeping inches away. Maybe with that road noise, no one will notice? Also, when Kelly said she went to school in LA, so she was used to the noise, I wondered if she meant USC.
Due to an oil spill in the 1980's, some of southern california's beautiful beaches will cause bare feet to accumulate a sticky, black, thick tar-like substance on the soles! Palmolive? Not for this task! What you're gonna need is a one dollar bottle of baby oil, (aka mineral oil.) Barely any elbow grease is required. Simply rub a little baby oil on the affected area, let it absorb for a few seconds, and then wipe it all away, using wet wipes or a paper towel! Seriously! You'll thank me later! This is the BEST way to easily remove all of the gunk, with very little effort!
First time viewer here. I’m intrigued. Loved that you are an animal lover, except mosquitoes. Kelly and you have great banter. I use to work on the freeway so I’m biased but thanks for the review.
Love the content! Living near this campground and driving past it my whole life… now I know. Leo Carillo is def more solid than Mugu. It would be nice to know what day of the week you are at these campgrounds.

If your reviews keep more inlanders and tourist's away which allows more surfers and beach people to camp here so be it. Btw ive never experienced mosquitoes or tar in the sand

I’d love to Paul. Thanks for watching! 🤘🏾

Thank you. She’s a keeper.
The interview of the beach locals was rock solid on point.

😂 Not a bad spot to work! Thanks for watching.
Are the mosquitos really that bad lol
The hiking trails on the other side of the freeway are awesome.
I wanted to do one but our investigation went longer than expected.
Kelly definitely needs to be in more videos. The back and forth between you two is perfect for your style of videos. Great job you guys.
